What's the point of achievements points? Does Microsoft gives you free stuffs from having a lot? Or it is just for the personal gratification of achieving something? We should get something from it. At the end those points are earned by paying for the games or renting them.

Just curious!

pretty much just to show your skill, but for me, it makes the games i buy much more interesting. i play thru the full game first then when i beat it, i go back and try and get all the achievements. so i get more out of the games i buy.

The name kind of says it all, doesn't it? You receive points for reaching certain, pre-determined milestones within a game. This can show a certain player's prowess, or supremacy in a certain game. Something like e-bragging rights. Now get a clue.

i see them as side missions.if i beat a game already, thats the end of that most of the times.but il replay the game for the achievements.adds lots of replayability to any game.

Dont have my 360 yet, but I see friends franticly trying to get achievements. And after that they complain about having more then 10.000 points. "Thats for nerds". So yea, its confusing me a bit. But I understand that getting achievements will make you enjoy the game more.

It's pretty much both. You can win some stuff from xbox if any of you remember the old spice challenge. I kind of look at it as the achievements give you some things to go for when playing the game. Most of the achievements are just related to finishing the one player without doing anything out of the ordinary.

in my eyes they are for fun and own personal pleasure. they also add a lot of re-playability and random fun in a game like in crackdown you get points for climbing to the top of the tallest structure and then more when you jump off and land in water at the bottom.
