What's the probability for my new x360 to break?

Topic says it all.

 

I just got my first and new xbox 360 premium, and after reading all the forums over the internet i'm afraid to turn it on and get the 3 lights of dead that everyone talks about, so my question is: every console gets this error sooner or later? or only a small percentage of all the 10millions of xbox out there witg bad luck gets this error?

XBOX LIVE DOES IT... Me my pal and 2 other people at school have 360s broke... WE have xbox live... the people that don't have it still have launch 360...

I would imagine its really a small percentage of them that break, it just seems like more because everybody's talks about it. You dont have all of the people with functioning 360s saying "hey everybody, my 360s still workin!"

1 in 12 chance ay, i must be unlucky then, first off i dont have XB Live,  was gettin it this wkend before the whole Halo3 Beta n all (IM GONA MISS THAT NOW, THANKS MICROSOFT), second, my replacement console ive had from Microsoft for 9 months has just lived its last breath, now it is flashing the 3 red lights like it wants attention from me, well its got my attention, nearly had a hammer n boot in the top of it, well it lasted longer than the 4 months my 1st one did, just thankful i can return it to them for another replacement that will nodoubt become as useful as a cock flavoured lollypop in a few months time

I was being optimisitic, honestly I think its much much higher. However if 1 in 12 doesnt scare you, then you're probably the person who doesnt care.

The likelyhood of your 360 breaking within the first year is about 90%. This is my oppinion and im sticking to it.

How can people be accepting this? A console shoudn't break unless you throw it into a brick wall, and maybe not even then. Microsoft should really appologice for making such crap. I've had quite many consoles and none of them has ever broken, it's hard to believe how bad MS messed this up.

Its 18months in and they're dropping like flies, they should be recalled until MS can fix the issue. But if MS did it would be a disater for them, and considering all the bad press they're getting now it would kill their chances this gen and maybe next. Now while Id love to see that happen, they aint gunna do it short of some scandel is brought to the attention of the mainstream press, and that isnt going to happen with Fox in MSs pocket.

Lol, eventually yes... my original launch xbox is still working flawlessly to this day.  Thompson drive and all.  To go even further back, my NES system still works like it was brand new.
