*** rpgs suck balls most of the time dkdk999
so true the clasics kick ass al the new ones suck as bad as mouse pads on laptops.
[QUOTE="ratchet3"][QUOTE="Ironfungus"]This thread isn't one meant to rag on the Xbox but simply make me feel better about buying this. I bought it early November and have been playing Halo 3 and Mass Effect casually on it.
But as I look at the future lineup I don't see anything new. You play one shooter, you've played them all. You've played one American-made RPG, you've played them all. It also seems like half the games coming out completely suck and are a total waste of time / money.
Ninja Gaiden 2 is possibly one of the only titles I know of that I'm truly excited about. Can't wait to play it.
But the question I'm asking is...why did I really buy an Xbox 360? I seem to have forgotten why. I wanted to play with some of my friends, but very few games out right now look appealing...including most of the lineup for early 2008.
To be honest, most of my purchases are for my PC. I buy MMOs (obviously), FPS and RTS games on the PC - which only generally leaves room for very few shooters, RPGs and Action/Adventure.
So I just ask some of you...am I missing something? Am I missing some must-haves to come? I've been a huge fan of Japanese RPGs throughout my entire gaming life, and it doesn't seem like we're ever going to get some of those. Eternal Sonata looked like a fun game, but I didn't know much 'bout it besides for it's supposedly linear storyline.

What do you mean by "You play one shooter, you've played them all. You've played one American-made RPG, you've played them all."
Which part?
If I've played one shooter, I've played them all basically states that they're not making anything NEW. Halo clearly didn't give us anything new. Call of Duty 4 was just Call of Duty 2 with better graphics (and I've been following the series closely since Call of Duty 1 first arrived on the PC. Unreal Tournament 3 didn't really give us anything new from Unreal Tournament 2004. You can't blame me for getting a little bored.
And the RPG remark...despite being an American myself, I can't help but laugh at the RPGs made in this country. They lack the SPARK that gamers grew to know and love back in the age of Squaresoft (yes, Squaresoft, not Enix). There have been good ones, but very few I play/buy.
I don't know how call4 is just like 2 call four has way more extra stuff smashed into that the gamplay changes sure its still call of duty but its finnally a very good call of duty well other than the first. There are innovative shooters (Gears) but none in fps's not even on pc (crysis is good but not innovative). I think people just havent found a way to master cover and actions other than shooting in a fps wait for the next half life(not hl2:ep3). Who knows duke nukem forever may rewrite the way fps's are played FOREVER.
