Mine would have to be using sellotape to hold the whammy bar down on guitar hero 3 to get Whammy Mania - 15G - Use the Whammy Bar on every held note on Number of the Beast
I've just played thru some really crummy arcade games for hours to unlock achievments..... Unless you consider cutting out someone's kidney and leaving them in a bathtub full of ice to sell the kidney on the black market a strange way to unlock an achievment.... or make a friend... eith or.....
Mine is also GH based. On GH;WT to be exact. I'd been out drinking and got home fairly late. Decided I'd play GH. Looking through the achievement list, I took particular note of "1.21 jigowatts". I sat for a moment. Could I really play 4 instruments at once AND activate star power? The answer was yes. Quite humorous. I had all instruments on beginner. Using my toes to strum on one guitar, my other foot was on the bass pedal, the lead guitar was strapped to my chest (as usual) and the mic was shoved in my shirt (no mic stand :-( ) There I stood. With my chin buried in my chest. Singing as loud as I could, trying to co-ordinate my feet and my hands. I succeeded! Glad nobody saw me. Must have looked so stupid!
Call of Duty 4 - Misery Loves Company achievement. Kill an enemy player by using a grenade without throwing it. Pretty much had to pull a grenade and cook it (hold it) while running after other players. Gotta love suicide bombing.

That is quite possibly the funniest thing I've heard for an achievment. Although I can't say that I wouldn't do the same if I were you.
The worst I've done is back when I first got my 360, I was living with a friend of mine who had one too. I rented king kong (not having read any reviews or I wouldn't have). I played a bit and left for work. My roommate beat the game in one sitting to get all of the achievement points. I was so aggrivated that I suffered through the game (it actually was very draining since I didn't want to play it) to get do the same. It took me 3-4 sittings because I couldn't torture myself for as long as he did. It was terrible.
Trying to coordinate people to play along with you so you can get the Mongoose Mowdown achievement on Halo 3 is pretty funny. "Hey could one of you just sit there while I come and splatter you with a mongoose? I will let you snipe me in the head if you do!" Rofl! That or trying to get the achievement on your own is pretty tough too. Gotta love the unprotected guys zooming around in the little ATV trying to splatter someone!
