I have an Xbox 360 and I been looking forward to buying a new game since Call of Duty 4 came out, but I look around and theres nothing but 1st person shooters! DMC4 came out and changed it, but thats only one game. All the 1st person shooters are making me not like 1st person shooters. Is there a competition to see who makes the best or freakin something? Is driving me nuts and I actually am growing alil less fond of my 360, I love the thing to death, but theres not much coming this way thats actually worth talking about for a good minute, I actually was interested in a PS3, excuse me, after I played CONFLICT: DENIED OPS! (DRAMATIC WAR MUSIC PLAYS) I really almost gave up. What the hells going on?

Well, there are some 3rd person shooters coming out too. [Kidding]

The simple answer is market forces. If shooters sell well, developers will make more of them. Shooters are what's popular. If you don't like them, don't buy them. There's this idea amongst gamers-and I'm not saying you think this way-that there is a finite amount of resources in the gaming industry, and if game developers use them making Genre A, then they'll run out and not make Genre B. I'm serious here. There's some idiot out there, trolling message boards, crying in his beer, and complaining that the Roster Update 2000-type sports games are the reason Fallout 3 wasn't made years ago. Oh, did I say "beer"? I mean Mr. Pibb.

I'm sure some people will come on here and disagree about how shooters are the big thing on 360, probably people who own a s***load of shooters. It's like all those people who ranted about how Halo 3 was hyped and overrated, then bought it the first week it came out anyway.

The gaming industry is driven, as are most businesses, by money. As long as the demand is high, we will steadily see this flood of first person shooters.

As everyone has stated, it's all dictated by the market. At the moment we're looking a a surge of first-person shooter titles. Actually, though, this year looks to be good for RPGs, even on the 360. The market for RPGs is starting to graw, and this is probably due to the fact that Final Fantasy XIII may be released this year. I wish I could make a list of the RPGs coming out for the 360 this year, but quite frankly, I can't remember them. Surely someone can help me out.

In any case, if you don't like the current gaming market, give it a little time, enjoy some of the classics in the meantime, and I'm sure a different genre will be popular in due time.

I don't understand why people think the 360 only has FPS games.

I'll name some games in my collection beside me that arn't.

Overlord (fantastic game), Assassins Creed, Burnout Paradise, C&C3, Kameo, Ace Combat 6, Gh2, Gh3, Rock Band, Battlestations Midway, LOTR2, Eternal Sonata, NHL 07-08 (and the million other sports games), Spiderman 3.

Then there's shooters that arn't FPS games: Saints Row, Mass Effect, GRAW, GRAW 2, Stranglehold, Gears of War, Crackdown, Dead Rising, Lost Planet.

There, that's just in my collection of roughly 45 games for the 360, and over half of them arn't even FPS games. And this is missing out on tons of other non FPS games.

Halo 3, Bioshock, CoD 4 =/= the only games on 360.

Dead Rising isn't a shooter. Saints Row and Crackdown are sandbox games. Mass Effect is an RPG too. Those games don't go into the catagory of shooters.

I wasn't making a list of every single genre, simply showing that the 360 has tons of games that arn't FPS games.
