Whats YOUR Game of the Year?

People love to complain! "Mass Effect only got an 8.5!!!!!" or "Halo 3 is wayyyy over rated" and i love "Assassins Creed got lower scores on other websites, so it sucks." Who cares about scores. Is that why u play video games in the 1st place? Do u only play games with a high score? I sure would hope not. So, lets get away from scores and focus on which games we have had the most fun with this past year regardless of there score. In YOUR mind, what is YOUR GOTY?

Assassins Creed would have to be my GOTY. I waited 3 years for this game to come out and once i got it, i was amazed. The graphics blew me away, the combat was amazing to me. At 1st when i started reading about the combat i was a little scared, but once i got ahold of the game, i picked up quickly on the combat moves. I found 100,000,000 things i like about the game and only about 5 things i dont like about the game. For me the game is so fun, i love going around trying to complete all the missions before an assassination.

Anyways, at this point it is Halo 3, but I haven't finished Orange Box yet, and I don't get Bioshock until later today, and COD4 is coming in about a week, plus Mass Effect will be picked up later today.

So yeah, Halo 3 at the moment, but that could easily change.

If it were last week I would've said BioShock but alas Assassins Creed has wooed me away. So yeah my GOTY Vote would be Assassins Creed.

My choice would be AC at the moment. still I think the game has some downsides.

1)One of the downsides (IMO) is the combat system, dont get we wrong It looks very nice made but Its still easy. you can start a fight with 30 guards and You can win by only counter attack them.

2) the game load after beating the game is a bit wack (IMO again). Dont like it one bit actualy

Still besides that its my choice for the GOTY award. for now. I still have to pick up COD4 and Mass Effect, so my choice could change.

Well i love Gears Of War ,I just cant geet enought of it online multiplayer.I'm almost in 1st 1000 in All time Execution,Im' trying to make it to 1st 100,But the best game I must say go to Assassin's Creed there's no doubt about that.

Halo 3, its a lot of game to play with many things to do. The single player, mulitplayer(matchmaking and custom games), co-op, skulls, forge ect.and its all fun to do. Admittedly it's not as refined of a shooter as cod4 is, but all the other gameplay elements make it superior in my mind. Sticking people, gravity hammers, Spartan lasers, having my tool of destruction be Warthog driver, things like these make Halo 3 more fun to play than COD4, at least for me anyway.

Havent played AC or ME yet so it might change but my GOTY and current fave game of all time has got to be Bioshock.:D

well until last week it was bioshock for me, but after playing assassins creed... i gotta go with that, this game is amazing no doubt, i can see why many ppl say its repititive but i enjoyed every hour of the game, i didnt get bored once and sucked me in man, the story behind each assassination is whats interesting, not the way u get information, really, i love finding out why im killing the guys, and well the ending of the game rocked.. u can find many clues after finishing the game that there will be a sequal! i cant wait for AC 2

plus the combat system is the coolest thing ive ever seen, sure its pretty easy, but damn its so damn fun to attack and counter 30 guards, if u just stay on counter though it kinda gets tiring, its fun to mix it up, anyway, ive done some awsome things with the combat system that i always wanted to do in games

COD 4 might have gotten the win for me, but it was too short, first time through i already played on veteran cuz i wanted a long experience, and even though the games missions are epic, i wanted more, a short single player with an average story doesnt deserve GOTY IMO...

Well my game of the year is not my most played game, and probably not my favourite game of the year overall, but still without a doubt Game of the year.

The game I am talking about is bioshock. Its a stand out moment in gaming and to me, that is what game of the year is all about. Its very original and the story line is gripping. The game is packed with some of the weirdest moments in a video game to date and also the most memerable. The same goes with the visuals and art style.

To be this game was deserving of a 10/10 - you couldn't ask for much more

I would guess hands down probably comes from the fact that you would raise your hand(s) to contest something, so hands down would be that no one would be contesting the statement.

I got a tie with AC and COD4

I love AC single player story and COD4 just has an awesome online mulitplayer that is crazy.

So far bioshock. I really enjoyed that game. Yet to play mass effect though so I am not sure.

right now its cod4 ill buy assasins creed and orange box after 2 weeks so if they change my mind ill sure edit this;)

Halo 3 is my Game of the Yearfollowed by Call of Duty 4. Both are very good games :)
