i got mine cos theyr dirt cheap with a 20gig HDD the graphics are awsome and its got atleast 10 really good games on it as of now, and also i got kinda of tired of the playin my ps2, oh and also got it cos of the XBOX LIVE experience if it wasnt for Live id got a PS3, and you cant answer in this topic with out throwing HALO 3 out there!!
Among the reasons that stood out was the fact that there'd be no way I'd tolerate paying out $2000 before finding a PS3 that would work. Thus far, my record has been of having to re-buy a playstation 3 times before getting one that worked each generation. And at a whopping $600(+tax) for each, that's going to add up and put a dent in me, HARD. Though on an ironic note, I'm kind of glad I did buy the in-store warranty for my 360... my first one RRoD'd because of a hard drive failure.
game selection. I didnt like the games PS3 had out....and i have no regrets at this time what-so-ever.
Note: i have been a PS palyer for years and years.....and i had no problems making the jump over...so i cant get the fanboi tagging, as i did play PS1/PS2.
I got it back in 2005, it was mainly because I was tired of the current gen and I had an opportunity to get one without waiting in line or overpaying. People seem to forget that the 360 launch was just as crazy as the PS3 or Wii, you couldn't find them and they were selling for $800+ on ebay. My only regret is that the system crapped out 7 months later, but it seems to be common so we all have the Red Ring rite of passage as 360 owners.
i got a great deal on one it seemed to be the best console, when talking about price, games and features also i really really wanted to play dead rising and bioshock
I was gonna get it no matter what because I knew it was gonna have a lot of great games but I was mostly excited about it at first because of Perfect Dark Zero...which completely lived up to the hype in my books.

Really? I had an original Xbox but it had Halo, Halo 2, KOTOR and Jade Empire and that was about it. PS2 I thought was way better and so far is probably the greatest videogame system ever (but I think the 360 will top it when it's all said and done). You just couldn't beat God Of War, God Of War II, Killzone, Ratchet & Clank 1, 2, and 3 and so many other incredible games.
First next gen out, and its cheaper than the ps3. I havent bought many games for it so im not 2 happy with it, and i dont even have hd. but the graphics are still amazing on reg. tv. I should go buy more games for it.
I wanted it because it was the first one out, but that's a fraction of why i really wanted it. Though, other than that I don't really know why. Well, Elder Scrolls is definately another reason... Fable 2, Halo 3 (kinda, not really though), Dead Rising, yeah. There wasn't a PS3 game that I really REALLY wanted, and I thought the Wii would be gimicky, which it kinda is, i still like it but come on people, be honest, you know it is.
i loved the original xbox and i loved the games i played on it so naturally i went with the 360. i loved ps2 too but ***. RPG's are kinda lame to me now real lame!. and PS3 costs too much, if it did cost as much as the xbox pro. i still would have picked the xbox 360...
I got it because I was tired of buying all the old edition games. Now I don't have to do any catching up anymore. I was also looking forward to Table Tennis, and to GTA IV. The one I have, the other I've preodered. :)
halo 3. i live in japan and i wanted to play with my friends. however when halo 3 gets played out imma get a ps3 for mgs, gta, and whatever game the makers of ico and shadow of the colossus makes. that being said i have really enjoyed my 360 experience so far.
