When Clearing out your cache on your xbox 360 hdd...what does it exactly do?

When you clear out your cash on the Xbox it means that you bought too many games.

I think it can make some loading times shorter but I'm not sure.

Bascially, it clears out all updates that you may have downloaded for games.

Thats all it does. It just deletes all the auto updates for every game youve gone online with and got one. Youll have to re-download some of the auto updates on games that youre still playing. But for older games that you dont really play anymore, it frees up space and helps with other issues.

Not to mention that sometimes those updates (which is just another way of saying 'patches') cause a problem when they shouldn't have, so the game won't even work right until you clear them out. That happened with me and Orange Box once... an update was giving me 5 minute load times, so I had to clear the cache and re-download them, at which point they worked fine. Corrupted data I guess.
