when does XBL trial start

hey guys, i was just wondering, when does the xbox live trial start on a newly purchased 360? is it after the 360 first gets connected to the net, or is it something else? cuz i don't wanna go online with my trial until i have a solid multiplayer game [halo 3 any1] but i also don't wanna waste my free 1 month trial to test it out. so, does anybody know when the 30-day trial starts? and also, how does one connect to the internet via 360? just plug in the ethernet cable and ur connected? or is there something more to it?

after your trial ends.. you just logout, then click'create a new account', you'll need another email address, and you'll need to think of another gamertag..

i think you can create 3 accounts, and get 3 free gold month trials (i don't know for sure though, i've only read you can do 3.. i only did 2)

oh and i do pay for gold BTW. i had trouble migrating my old account, so used free trials untill it got sorted..

hehe lol. yeah i'll uy gold if i like it! [which i probably will]. but hey, silver is completely free with 360 Pro right? so i can downloadstufffrommarketplace[themes,demos,extra packs] without any worries right? oh, and how does one connect? just plug it into the router and just 'login' or 'create an account' or something? is it easy?
