When is Halo 3 on games for gold

I have had my 360 for around 4-5 months now and are enjoying the exclusives and looking to get in to fable, alan wake, gears and halo. My question is when is Halo 3 coming to games for gold. I have got Halo ODST, Reach and 4 but have heard Halo 3 is going to be free so didn't feel the need to buy it and. the thing is I like to play them in the order so was wondering if anybody knew when its going to be free? I have got other games to play in the mean time such as gears and mass effect trilogy.

Games for gold are basically crap games that are older and no one plays that much of anymore. For christs sake august consists of crackdown which can be bought for 2.99 at gamestop for the retail physical copy, and dead rising 2 which can be had for 6 bucks on amazon marketplace.

Microsoft will never give halo 3 away as long as there is a chance someone might buy it, its too big of a name for them to give away easily.
