I see thanks for your answers guys! I was asking because I'm looking to buy the X1 in August but what is the point if new consoles are going to hit the market next year?
Now that's it's clear that the Scorpio in coming out holiday 2017.I have question:If I was to purchase the Scorpio and use it on a Samsung t.v. in which I just bought, will the Scorpio have a major performance jump over the Xbox One on my Samsung??Or would I have to purchase one of those pricey 4k t.v.'s??Thank for any input.

It's a pretty safe bet that the majority of games on Scorpio will be 1080p/60FPS, at minimum, with more graphical detail. So you'll definitely see a difference compared to the current model. Whether the difference will be worth the $$$, who knows.
But according to MS, Scorpio is designed with 4k in mind. So obviously you'd need a 4k TV to get the absolute most out of it.

Head of Xbox, Phil Spencer already answered that in various interviews.
The Scorpio is a higher end Xbone for the 4K market (the main reason why it's in development).
"...you can buy the Scorpio, though you would need to "buy a 4K TV to take advantage of the increased performance..."
"...I wouldn't buy Scorpio to run your existing library of Xbox One games better..."
Microsoft announced Project Scorpio, a more powerful Xbox One,
at its E3 press conference. It supports 4K gaming, and Xbox head Phil Spencer said in an interview with Eurogamer that the console's full benefits can only be seen on a 4K TV.
"[If you own a 1080p TV] then you should buy [an Xbox One S], because Scorpio is not going to do anything for you," Spencer said. "Scorpio is designed as a 4K console, and if you don't have a 4K TV, the benefit we've designed for, you're not going to see."
Spencer added that you can buy the Scorpio,
though you would need to "buy a 4K TV to take advantage of the increased performance."

"I'm trying to be transparent with people about where we are in the design of Project Scorpio and what it was designed for. It was designed in order to enable these high-fidelity 4K experiences. So some of the existing games will actually run a little better if they're using dynamic scaling, but
I wouldn't buy Scorpio to run your existing library of Xbox One games [better].”
