I definitely want a 360 for mass effect (I love Bioware), but I was wondering if I should get the 360 now or wait until Mass Effect comes out. If i get it now, what games should I get? (Barring Halo 3. I don't have the time for online play...)

Wait till the middel of next year. By that time the falcon chip will be widely ciruclated and you'll have a better chance of picking up a 360 that dosent self destruct.

Games I recomend

Amped 3, Eternal Sonata, and Gears of War.

I've Heard Mass Effect is pretty long... if you don't have time for Halo 3 than how are you going to have time for Mass Effect?

Screw it then. I like character and plot development, and am unimpressed with the breadth of Halo 3's offering in that regard. So, I'm interested in full, lengthy single player affairs...

I really enjoyed Halo 3's, Gears of War, and Rainbow Six's single player, and if you can find some time there some of the best multiplayer games out there, you could also grab some friends for coop. Bioshock has an amazing single player, and if you get the 360 now i'm sure you'll find abunch of games you'll like, you can try the demos on the marketplace.

Not now. Why? There are new bundles and packages coming out:

Arcade version: http://www.destructoid.com/retail-display-confirms-forthcoming-xbox-360-arcade-bundle-48535.phtml

New pro bundle: http://www.destructoid.com/xbox-360-bundles-incoming-packed-in-with-forza-2-and-marvel-ultimate-alliance-46765.phtml

If you dont like the games in the new pro package, get it anyway and sell the games online or at a gamestop. $350 for a xbox 360 or $350 for a xbox 360 plus 2 games?

Played it on PC. I liked the thieves guild and Brotherhood of Darkness questlines, but wasn't impressed by the main quest. I also didn't really like the enemy scaling, which sucked. Bad.
