When the next gen xbox console comes out...

i'd imagine all our stats - gamerscore, achievements - will carry over to this console? i'm just thinking ahead, and i guess it doesn't really matter, but sure another console will be out in 2-3 years and i'm just sort of curious how microsoft will work that out. i'd like to keep my account and see all the games i've played on the 360, even though i'm on their next new console.
