I have the halo 3 edition 360 and ive had it since oct 07. my 360 has the falcon chip, and i play for 3-7 hours every 2-4 days and sometimes leave it running when im not playing to go on the comp, or grab a snack and my question is, how long will it be before it finally gives out from to much usage and gets overheated or RRod? oh and on a side note i disconect my 360 from the power outlet after im done.

It will take him a minute to figure out what happened though. So we are both right in a way.

Personally, I would say that your 360 can last over 2 years with no issues at all.

My 360 was purchased in March of 2006 (a 'pro' without HDMI output), and, I usually have no worries when I power it on, if it will get the RROD.

I will say that I keep it laying flat (horizontal), keep the air in the room at 74-75 degrees Fahrenheit (central air), give the system 1-2 ft clearance on the left, right, top and behind, and keep anything away from the power brick (sitting on carpet) at least a foot away.

There is a chance your system will 'give out' the next time it's powered on, but there is also a chance you will get tired of your system before it 'gives out'.

Just give it breaks after you play. the intercooler helps but if you play 7 hours at a time it wont take long before it overheats.

Dude did you realize what almost everyone is answering? I mean you CANNOT ask a question like that. I mean what are we? Psychics? No one knows what will happen to your 360 and when. I mean come on. But to answer your question, you 360 will last till 12/05/2008, on my Birthday. :)
