when will they fix it? it's taking them forever. it takes like 10 minutes to join a game on halo3 sometimes, just searching and searching, and the constant drops from games, and red bards, and disconnections, and getting signed out of xbox live. i pay 60 a year for gold. and so far 1/12 of that was money down the drain. what is their deal?

Actually, it's been working great for me the last few days. I was having all kinds of problems, but the last couple days I have played COD4 (including in parties) without any problems. No more lag in my dashboard, etc. From my perspective, they did fix it.
Isn't XBL $49.99 per year? Or maybe that's just in the US, my bad. I have no idea how much it is per year in other countries but if you pay $60.00, how does half of that equal to one month? Not "biting your head off", just curious about your math. XBL is working great for me, maybe you should call tech support? :)
I'm still having long load times and lag in the dashboard. If you click on one of your friends and go to compare games it takes ages to load, then sometimes fails to load any of your friends details, showing only your games.
Also still no word on the free game as compensation yet...

uh oh, some one didn't have their wheaties this morning..
Mines was k until recently, everytime i sign in, i immediatley sign off, which is odd. I cant play 5 of my arcade games as a result of me being offline :(.But this doesnt happen everytime, but sometimes.
I still have problems too. Live is now playable, but there are some annoying lag issues. I do wonder how long it will take them to get up to capacity since they claim they just got overloaded.
Its absolutely fine when I play by myself, but when I try to play in parties it gets problematic, especially in COD4. It seems like they haven't got all of the servers up to capacity yet and haven't ironed out the networking issues.
I was lucky, my 360 died at the start of dec, so I sent it in. I missed out on all these problems you speak of, and in addition to getting that free arcade game, I also got a 1 month free card back with my system. Woot for me.
I still encounter issues every once in awhile that I didn't experience before the update. Overall though, Xbox live still takes the cake when it comes to online services. In response to the second post though, stop being such a fanboy, Microsoft needs to continue offfering a great service, not just a good one in order to stay on top. As a customer we need to have high expectations, otherwise we are going to pay more for less.
i know it's not just me bc i never have problems on computer games, and nevre get disconnected on the internet. but i have a lot of problems on xbox. also theres been a few threads and articles about kids complaining to xbox live and a lot of people are actually sueing xbox live for it. claiming that its been weeks with problems and xbox has done nothing to adress the situation. so i know its not just me. what a suprise - microsoft getting sued
