There are 2 ways to update.
1.  Automatic Updates via Xbox Live for Free
or
2. You can go to Xbox.com and download the update, then burn it to a CD.
This method is also free, however it will cost you a CD-R
Thanks for the info. I have Xbox Live, but when I booted up my 360, I didn't get any automatic update. I even put in my copy of Crackdown to see what happened, but they just downloaded an update for Crackdown. Was the update downloaded for Crackdown the system update? Or is there a way I can manually download the update thru xbox live?
