Ah lockpicks...the whole thing that started getting me to HATE Oblivion, or just get really frustrated with it rather. Ultimately, I sold the game. I went on that Sidequest to get the Infinite Lockpick thing but I wasnt even Level 10 and I Needed a lot of lockpicks to break into some Elfs house (im assuming this is where you are too) and I wanted to just do auto with infinite lockpicks but I could never level up fast enough, I despised Oblivion Gates. I realized this didnt help...but I HATE LOCKPICKS!
In Imperial City go to the place on the left of Talos Plaza (Stables, I think) and when you are around the wall of Imperial city walk north following it, You will see this guy dressed in All black selling them.
Th ething that's always bothered me about games with this skill, is that, when in real life, I get trhough picking a lock, I put my the tools back in my pocket. I don't THROW THEM AWAY! I mean, its not like they disintegrate upon opening the door (Splintercells disposable picks aside).

I haven't played it in awhile so I might be remembering wrong but don't you only lose it if it breaks?
