I've had my 360 since May 2007, a bad time, lol. My 360 has been getting the 2 red rings (overheating) for a long while and now it's just nuts. I've been using a fan since Dec 07 and now I'm using this heavy duty one that's usually used only for summer. So yeah, I'm planning to send it to Mircrosoft for repair. According to the bill, it says $94 for repairing + shipping.

But there's also a Play N' Trade here that says that they'll be able to repair it for $50. The problem is, is that if they will actually be able to fix it.

Is PNT good/successful at repairing 360's? I'll send it there if they are. It is cheaper after all.

And if you have any other ideas in mind, please help me out.

Your normal warranty for the 360 is good for 1 year. The RROD warranty is good for 3 years. However, if you really don't have the RROD and say you do, and they find out, they'll charge you for it.

I also believe there's a stickied thread on this topic. You should probably look in there for more advice and ideas. I could be wrong though...

Ahhhh i've had the same problem, what you do is call 1-800-4my-xbox talk to the represtitive the ask for ur info, then they ask you what your problem is you tell them rrod BUT before they SAY ANYTHING cut them off and start saying stuff like my friends ps3 doesnt break, his wii doesnt break WHY I ask of you is that the xbox breaks? Basically BE A HUGE DICK then ask to see there supervisor and you gotta convince him or her to give you a discount BE A DICK. It works, the first time i sent it in for repair i got like $20 bucks knocked off and free shipping so it ended up costing like $60, MUCH BETTER THAN $90.
