I like COD 3 a lot. I mean, I've only had COD 4 for a day now, but I think COD 3 was the best WWII multiplayer game. I heard some people today in the COD4 lobby's complaining about people spawn camping in COD3. I found it next to impossible to spawn camp in that game. They would spawn you based on where your other team-mates were located on the map. I also heard a lot of people in COD4 complaining about the battle tanks and jeeps you could drive in COD 3. I thought that was a pretty cool feature.
Edit: One thing I didn't like about COD 3 multiplayer is that you couldn't pick between team battle or single battle. I mean come on, it doesn't take an Einstein to put that option into a game.
It's a tie for me between COD2 and COD4. COD4 obviously has the graphical edge, and it feels fresher because it's not tied to a historical event. There are loads of WWII games out there, so it's nice to see something set in the present day.
HOWEVER... COD2's single player is notably longer than COD4, and they are both excellent games.
Ignore COD3. The squad A.I. is rather awful at times.
