I had never played Assassin Creed games before getting it free a month ago. Somehow I was sure this game might not interest me. So I didn't buy it. But I was surprisingly impressed with AC2 when started playing it. I realized I had to pick it up early than that. No doubt the 3rd part will get in my game collection pretty soon!

There were two games in between 2 and 3. AC3 is easily the best one to date and a huge step forward in the series. If you are going to get it. Play the other two first because you won't want to after you play 3. I tried...and I found them stale and nearly unplayable by comparison.
alan wake would be nice its only about 20 bucks now so i think its a possibility

No offense...but you are kinda over-hyping it. BTW...it may be a free game because it came free with the slim consoles when they first came out. I am sure there is a pretty good chance it will be. The worst part about that game is you can blast though it easily in under 8 hrs (I finished it in a little over 7 and my buddy that got it free with his console finished in a little over 6) and there is very little reason to wanna go back and play it again.

Your right, it did come free with the slim!!:P....Anyway, I do get a little carried away with my love for that game because it doesn't bring anything new to the table as far as gameplay. But the atmosphere and tone of Alan Wake is truly different from other games on that platform
Nothin wrong with your liking Alan Wake. It was underrated and overlooked by a lot of people... I do think it suffered from such a loooonnng development cycle.

I suspect that they will follow the Playstation Plus playbook. Great older games in a franchise will be released a few months before a new title to juice sales. Â

For clarification sake they are not free. You have to subscribe to xbox live gold to get them.
If they were actually free then every XBL member would get them, including silver members.
So you do pay for them, its just part of the XBLG package is all. Thats like saying buying a gym membership means you get to lift their weights for free.

wow what a fail, but ill bite anyway. LOL I felt the same way. But since he wants to get ALL technical in stuff, it is FREE for us. It's a FREE gift for being a member of XBOXLIVE. We are not paying anything extra to get these games, just the price of the membership we ALREADY own. If they did it EVERY month since the XBOX came out THEN it wouldn't be FREE since you would KNOW that it's part of the package/deal. But in THIS case, it is FREE and I am enjoying it.

Sounds like somebody that didn't want to shell out the little bit of $ XBL costs in the first place. I believe the proper term is "sour grapes". All I know is.. I am now getting something I am not paying extra for from a service that was fairly priced to begin with...in my world, we call that a win/win!

And I need time for all the other games! I shouldn't get stick on assassin series!

I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to free games, as long as it's a proper title and not some generic, tossed aside XBLA game. I'm sure GTA4 will be one of the free titles since 5's coming out soon and 4 has made enough money as it is. Arkham City would be awesome since everyone is talking about Origins, but we'd probably get Arkham Asylum before City.
