which game deserves game of the year?

GoW2 I haven't played yet, but if the original is anything to go by, its pretty bad.

And your in the 360 section, so you say ask people about PS3 games? Strange logic there.

But I am getting Fallout 3 soon, that might make it onto there. At the moment I would say Fable 2 but that has its flaws not matter how good it is. I suppose thats the only game that I can think of, other than Bad Company but that wasn't amazing.

So Fable 2 it is.

there can't be a game of the year discussion without including mgs4 in it....the game is that good :)

Oh, I mean with all the newer and great games coming out I really doubt MGS4 will get GOTY, but I heard it was a good game. I just got GOW2 and i have to say this game with Horde alone is worth buying. But that's just my opinion. Did you feel like the cutscenes in MGS4 were to long and frequent? or not?

I've played all of the above games, with the exception of GoW2. Wasn't really a fan of the original. But for me its Fallout 3 all the way, and I'm not usually into those RPG type games.

Fable 2 was disapointing for me... Why have a game where you can get through it simply by pressing X?

the cutscenes were long and frequent but i enjoyed them, the game is epic from beginning to end...as far as gears goes, i got it on november 6th and i know the game is amazing.

umm, u have the option of skipping it, but first playthrough it was exciting to watch ,second playthrough just skipped it.

Fable 2 was great, but short, uninspiring and lacked a couple of key features. (Story, combat)

GOW I won't comment on, because I don't like GoW and its unfair

GTA suffers from similiar technical issues past games have had, but makes up for it by being so fun.

Metal Gear is a great game, but again, had little innovation. What made gameplay so great was that it was fueled by the cutscenes.

Little Big Planet (some people have said it...) is nothing more than a good level editor.

I have a feeling COD5 won't change that much from 4.

So, Fallout 3 is the favorite in my mind. But this is all my opinion.

I personally think the that MGS4 will win GOTY jsut because of the sheer amazingness of the game. But there are other games, both 360 and PS3, that are in the running. This was just a great year for video games as far as quality goes.

But if I had to chose it would be between MGS4, overall, and Far Cry 2, single player, and Gears 2, gameplay,all of those games deserve it in my opinion.

Only on i've played there is GTA IV and so far thats a pretty good game. although it does get a little tedious at times. So i wouldn't say GTA IV. but i cant say any others.olpfan

BUT GTAIV GOT A 10. It's amazing game. Everyone gave it 10's and it's so original. NOT.

Totally agree. The campaign is solid and all the multiplayer modes are a blast especially Horde. Gears 2 all the way!

Highly off-topic, but that doesn't make any sense. MGS4 is very innovative, the no-place-to-hide battlefield mechanic was inventive and changed the way I look at stealth action games. If your gonna lay the "no innovation" clause, it should be on Gears 2. The thing is though, Gears 2 does't need innovation, the combat is basically perfect and as good as it gets for take-cover and shoot games.

that's how I feel about GOW2. Though it's an awesome game it played exactly like the first. In my opinion I'm gonna go with Dead Space or Mirror's Edge
