The executions and deaths in GoW seem more detailed but almost have a cartoony feel to them, though thats not the relation I'm really looking for. Fallout 3 you can pick up the body (with your apparent psychic powers or something seeing as how they just float) and take the Ripper and just dismember a dead body for the hell of it.
Fallout 3 - Less than 30% of the things I kill are still in one piece - it's just head explosion after arm ripped off, after leg blown off. The slowmo kill cam makes it all the more visceral. I'd got used to seeing the head fly away at speed, but last night made me laugh when the head came off, but stayed still, while the rest of the body cartwheeled away into the distance. The head just gracefully fell to the ground :D There's probably something wrong with finding that amusing, but hey its only a game :P
When you have been to Tranquillity Lane in Fallout 3, there really isn't any doubt :? Not that there was before, but that is insane, yet very funny :twisted:
I can'I can't really tell but I got more kicks out of Fallout 3 as I blew off a Yao Guai's head and then suddenly his started sumersalting in the air and landed behind a rock that was about 100 feet away it was hillarious.
I find it really creepy yet ironically satisfying once I looked at the title of this thread, I automatically knew which two games were going to be compared. Anyway, Fallout 3 is the more violent game without a doubt. I say this because Gears' focus is more on gore and blood, while Fallout 3's combat tackles the fundamental aspects of violence, like the dismembering of limbs/body parts, blood spatter, etc. Not that Gears does not contain this to some extent, but the violence in Fallout 3 is far more superior. The issue with Gears 2's violence in contrast to Fallout 3 is the fact that it's too cliche and predictable, while Fallout's is unique.
what i don't understand is why dark sector was banned in australia yet fallout 3 and gears 2 were allowed through.nick_spot
if you do a little bit of reading Fallout 3 was banned in Austrailia months before launch. But Bethesda toned the game down a little for Austrailian consumers.
