modern warfare will rock much much harder. how could it not? I mean, it's modern warfare man. it has to be good. it's not an option!! microsoft specically said they WILL NOT release the game unless it is good. I was shocked too man. I can't wait for it, it's gonna rock soooo hard!
Well I like them both the same, and will prolly be getting them both. Getting Modern Warfare 2 for story and multiplayer (surprise) and I want Operation Flashpoint because its a military Simulator and Tactical Shooter
I don't even think that's much of a question. I think Modern Warfare 2 will be GOTY or at least nominated.
Well I think Operation Flashpoint will be much better for people who like to actually think and employ skill to do good at videogames.
But MW2 will be better if you like thinking with the IQ of a third grader, and you just want to shoot people alot without any tactics or real skill involved.
Debatable really...

Really thats all you do in MP, unless you either camp, or snipe from twenty yards away.
And the perk selection is a joke. Perk 2 is almost always stopping power, if its not its either juggernaught or uav jammer. Perk 1 is mostly claymores. And Perk 3 is useless except for steady aim and dead silence. And all guns pale in comparison to the m16 and p90.
MW2= Run and gun arcade fun, go rambo, Operation Flashpoint 2= Tactical sim that requires team work to win, go rambo and you die. Open world, military playbooks and vehicles like BF:BC. I'm taking the underdog opinion here. Operation Flashpoint 2 for a more military scenario experience. DPhunkT
It is open-world BUT you have to finish each level in a given amout of time.
Modern Warfare 2 l Operation Flashpoint 2
Fun l Challenging
For kids who would be able to play l Mature Gamers
Not so realistic l Very Realistic
Not so Different l Different
Pretty Quick Gameplay l Time Consuming

What do you like?

Well, in the campaign yeah, but the multiplayer is way weak. Though, the campaign earns the special distinction of being the only FPS where your teammates kill everyone and leave one guy for you to kill and advance the story.
Well, Microsoft said that Xbox 360 is the most powerful entertainment console on the market. True the ps can perform better, but they still havent brought out a game that i can say they couldnt have released on the xbox aswell, i notice barely any difference, its mostly a bit of texture and lightning, thats it. Kind of sad =(modern warfare will rock much much harder. how could it not? You can't really compare these two games. They are different types. Modern Warfare is an arcade run and gun shooter where you have unbelievable health and Operation Flashpoint is a SIMULATOR meaning if you get shot once you are dead. Game over. If you call in an air strike in MW there is no fire and the smoke is gone in a few seconds. If you call one in OPF there will be fire and smoke and it will stay for a good 20 minutes. There are no "maps" in OPF, just one huge island. It takes about 4.5 hours to walk from one end to the other in that game.
I personally will get OPF because MW2 is MW with some new maps and I am sick and tired of fake games. I would love some realism where you don't have idiots trying to "no scope" or shoot you at point blank range with a sniper rifle. Remember that one mission in MW where you are on the top floor of that building and you try to snipe that one guy and the helicopter comes? In OPF sniping is always like that. They will both get extremely good ratings but MW2 will definitelyout sell OPF just because it is CoD. Because of how most FPS players are used to Halo and CoD they will hate OPF because you die if you get shot and there are no perks, therefore it will be rated better but OPF will still be the better game.
I think it is a unfair question really both games are different in their own right.
Modern Warefare 2is nothing like Operation Flashpoint 2, bar maybe the weaponry used.
Operation Flashpoint 2 is a more serious simulator, where it plays almost as real as it gets, where Modern Warfare is all about the big bang.
Fact is both games will be amazing and in areas will be better than each other, who will sell more Modern Warefare 2 is the easy answer, but Operation Flashpoint's 8 player co-op will bring the players in.
OF2 is more like Battlefield 2 without the planes.I think it is a unfair question really both games are different in their own right.

The inconveniant truth of the matter.

Not really if you play the first one you will realize that they are not the same. While I like battlefield, it is still not as team based as it leads on to be. I hardly find a game where people are actually talking to people. It is also not that realistic.

More teamwork and realistic than CoD anyways...

True when you do have people who talk it is an amazing multiplayer expierince.

Walking from tip to tip should be an acheivment...
OF2 looks bad. No leaning, non-toggle grain filter... pfft.Sounds to me like they're two different types of games.
MW2 will probably be more mindless, nonstop shooting action, while OF2 will probably require some patience and thinking.
So it depends on what you're looking for.
