Which gears game do you think is better???

Many people are saying that the original gears of war was better than the sequel. What do you think?

Gears 2 hands down. It has better graphics, MP, and guns. Its only shortfall is the story, thats not a deal breaker imomithrixx

I liked the campaign for both about equally. But Gears 2 is crap online. Gears 1 wasn't great either, and now Gears 2 is a lot worse. I'll stick to other, better games for my multiplayer fixes.

Personally, I think Gears 1 is better. Loved the grittiness and the pure action.

Played the first on religiously on PC and i LOVED it.
When I heard gears 2 was coming out (that and the prospect of streaming netflix) I ran out to buy a 360, only I hardly touch gears2 and when i do, its usually split screen with my brother.

I believe gears of war 2.
I like the way that they have made it a more "long-lasting" multiplayer experience, when the player slows down whilst running because they're getting shot.
I think gears of war was too much run-n-gun and didn't vary enough in it's online gameplay. Gears 2 however; that requires some tactics & thinking.

Technically, Gears 2 is better.

Longer campaign with better vehicle segments, co-op allowing each player to play on a separate difficulty. The story is a leap ahead of it's predacesor. The graphics have improved a bit. Theres now reaction animations for be shot at be it directly or almost. the lighting is much better, texture pop in has be reduced, there a much larger scale, the color pallet has been expanded and water looks much more convincing. I'd say the audio is on par with the last game which was great. And the multiplayer is a lot deeper now with many more modes and maps than the last game.

But at launch Gears 2 was a lot more buggy than the original ever was which is ridiculous considering that Gears 2 was developed by Epic and Published by Microsoft. People expect more from big names like that. So alot of the fans left.

The game has been patched and for the most part it functions as it should. But none of my friends play it any more. In other words it's just not as fun as it could be. And it probably never will be.

In short, what I'm saying is that Gears 2 is pretty much better than the original in every way. But thanks to a crappy launch it's just not as fun as the original.

Somehow I liked the Gears 1 campaign better.

Not sure why. Perhaps it was just more simple. Also, I don't really like the vehicle/creature/flying parts that much in Gears 2 (of which there are a lot of.)

Also in Gears 2, finishing the game didn't feel all that satisfying (since it doesn't really even have a last boss.)

Maybe I just need to play through it again.

gears 1:

story:good, original, short

multi:great, little lag, and glitches(at 1st)

gears 2

story: goo, better play through, longer, almost perfected besides the story could have been better

multi: good, lots of glitches and lag, hard to find a game but once u have a good game or one played with friends its prolly one of the best sci shooter's ever

gears of war 2, just because the add ons and graphics are better along with the features of horde, co-op, bots, u can really do what u want 2, besides have a lag free game unless doing a system link
