I didn't find either hockey title particularily realistic. The breakdown for me goes like this:
NHL 07 - Skillstick is the best addition to any sports game, but once the innitial wow factor is gone, the rest of the game is very thin.
NHL 2K7 - Bland presentation and last gen graphics, but still very fun to play with loads of features that keep everything fresh.
i want a hockey game that ismost realistic, since i play hockey myself i want an accurate game to it...i dont know which is better...NHL 07 or NHL2K7?zeldarob88
i am the same. played hockey a while and love the sport like no other. both games are lots of fun and would not disappoint, but i have owned both and the only one still in my collection is 2k7.
EA does a great job on the 07 for 360 with gfx, atmosphere and the new skill stick. however, if you want realism as in smart AI that will make it harder to score, or more overall control to how you move the puck around the ice and set up plays then the 2k series is for you. the cinemotion mode gets a little old but the camera is the best yet in hockey games. they also have a fun goalie control mode that adds a little something more to the gameplay.
on top of all that 2k7 offers great online play that is much more stable than anything EA has put out in the past. it also has leagues and tournaments you can set up with friends or join online.
again, neither will disappoint, but being that you're a hockey player/fan i would highly recommend 2k7
I think NHL 07 is more realistic... all around a better game.
2k7 is alright, but the presentation is awful and the gameplay is a little "arcade".
