rock band has over 400 songs under its belt with the likes of mettalica, disturbed, and many others from all brands of music. GH has different games for different groups (which i think is a little gay but has special ones for bands such as areosmith (i think sucked ass) which do u think is the best game and song. people wanna know........
Rock Band has a much more professional art direction and a huge catalog of downloadable songs. With DLC, in-game songs are a moot point, so it really comes down to whether or not you want a childish presentation developed by the company that HASN'T spent its entire career innovating in the genre of rhythm games or a crisp, mature presentation developed by the company that HAS. This is the way I see it.
I like Rock Band better - song list is better for those who like rock - seems like more of a selection. My favorite song is off the RB1 disck - Welcome Home by Coheed & Cambria - I can play almost the whole song w/o looking at the tv.
and FYI for ppl w/ Rock Band & Iron Maiden fans - 12 pack of classic Iron Maiden songs coming June 9th !!!
I prefer rock band when i'm in a group, but for single player I prefer the old guitar heroes (2 & 3) because of their challenge. I don't like the direction that the new GH's are taking with having a game for a specific band.... I would also say that the track list for rockband is slightly better

Its Rock Band Simply because of songs rock band has over 500 songs you can play not like we are gonna buy everything there but diversity is key in music games.
Favorite Songs to play in any Music games are the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana Simply because there fun :D
