Halo:CE by far, simply because it was the one that started it all and was a straight shooter in which you killed covenant without giving a flying **** about their "wrong side of the conflict" stuff they brought in with the arbiter story line (though that was fun) ...seeing a bit of hate for ODST ... people a bit allergic to a different way of doing things? it was awesome ... if not quite long enough to justify the price tag
This. It actually surprises me how anyone can rank Halo 1 as their favourite and not have ODST trailing in second, considering what a throwback it was to the original game.
Halo 3. Just felt it had the better overall package of all the Halo games released now. 4 player co-op campaign, Forge and theater still kept me enjoying the game since launch.
I've never played the campaign in Halo:CE and only like 2 rounds of multiplayer. The best Halo in my opinion is Halo 2. I felt kinda disappointed with Halo 3 but I really liked ODST. Halo Wars was just unnecessary in my opinion.
Surprised to see that many chose Halo 3. I've seen some knock it for its supposedly mediocre campaign levels. Gives me some motivation to finish the campaign. Haven't even beaten the first mission yet. 8)

I would guess that, had you played ODST or Wars, your list would look like this: CE > 3 > ODST > 2 >>>>> Wars But I could be wrong. It would all vary on why you put each game in the spot you put it in the first place.
4. Halo ODST (imo wasnt horrible but wasnt great i wish they would of added ODST multiplayer could of been cool but instead they sold Halo 3 again if it wasnt 60 bucks and more along the lines of 30 then it would of been sweet )

They're dedicated to their fans. A few guys from Bungie came over to 343 like Frank O'Connor. He cares about the franchise so I'm not too worried. Plus, I think 343 just handles the franchise and not make the games. So, Bungie could still make a Halo game in the future.
My favorite was Halo: Combat Evolved. Particularly the PC version. It was more fresh, obviously. The sequels are great but it just doesn't equel that new awesomeness feeling that was Combat Evolved.
