Hi, I'm looking to get an xbox 360 cooling fan stand. Can anyone recommend a good one?

Preferebly one thats quite

p.s. I know that plugging in the fan via consoles usb can cause problems. thats why I will use a usb charger instead of plugging it to my 360

thanks

The quieter it is the less air it moves, so the less cooling it does.

You can buy replacement fans from a PC spares shop and use those in place. A larger fan can push more air (better cooling) while spinning slower (less noise). The ones in most coolers are budget ones that are chosen because they are cheapest, rather than because they can blow a lot of air, or how loud they are.

I bought a MadCatz stand in a clearance sale new for £4.99 and already had a couple of spare case fans kicking around. The unit unscrews, and a couple of soldered wires later its better and quieter.

Just buy this and replace the old fans in the console it will make less noise and move much more air trough the console, I have done this and they work like a charm. Its very easy to install and you wont regret it. My console got both much quieter and cooler.

The Cool Station at circuit city is amazing. silent, stands the xbox vertical and prevents tipping, comes with holders on the sides for 2 controllers, its a small fan but it gets the job done. just plug it into USB and you will be on your way :D its only like 12 bucks at circuit city

THIS WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY!!

An external cooler is a much better idea as it does not involve opening the console and voiding any warranty with MS. While many have run out of their 1 year warranty, RROD is still covered for 3 years. Since adding/replacing fans is to help with cooling and prevent RROD, you are voiding the only warranty left that would still be of use to you.
