Which overhyped game was actually good?

everyone knows that alot of games have been very very overhyped but have failed to live up to there expectations.

But which games have actualy been good?

Gears of War (Debatable by some though)

Bioshock...

Um... plenty more "less hyped" titles.

I don't think either Gears of War or Bioshock lived up to the hype. They were both absolutely brilliant games but they definitley had noticeable flaws which reviewers seemed to brush over.

I think Halo 3 could live up to the hype as it seems Bungie have learnt from their mistakes, but we will have to wait and see.

Defintely,the weather effects look amazing,but i was'nt too keen on motorbikes....

I don't know how over hyped Bioshock was but I do know it's getting a lot of hype now. All I know is that it exceeded my expectations, and that's all that matters to me. For me, Gears lived up to the hype as well.

There wasn't that much hype for Bioshock, but it was good. And also if COD 4 turns out to be bad I will cry many rivers.

Also Lair was really hyped and it sucked.

This is semi-off topic, but numerous people have made the comment so I have to ask. Why does everyone hate Halo 2? What did they do that was so horrendous?

Please, concise answers only. Don't use all caps and make sure to spell words properly. If you can't do those two things, then your opinion doesn't matter to me. Also, no rambling on about how another game is better or whatnot. I only want to know what the main crippling deficiency that people keep alluding to was.

In more on-topic news, I'd say Gears of War. I wasn't very impressed by Bioshock. Its atmosphere was great until you got used to all the creepy stuff, and the rest of the gameplay was fun, but not stunning.

Oh yeah, Bioshock wasn't that good at all, that's why it got rave reviews from every critic on the face of the planet....because it wasn't that good. Good god, how stupid can people get.degobah77
