I am looking into buying a next gen gaming system this holiday and I was wondering which one you would suggest. I like the PS3 because of its built in Blu Ray Player, Blu Ray discs, the fact that PS Network is free, the graphics, and that the PS4 is supposed to come out after the Xbox 720, and I would like my system to last at least 3 or 4 years. I like the 360 because I like the games, controller, Xbox Live, Netflix, and Natal.

Which would you suggest and why?

Also, I want my system to last a while so if you have any idea when the PS4 and 720 are coming out, please tell!

BTW, please do not argue!!! I just want suggestions and help, not a fight!

The 360 forum isn't the best place to ask this as it'll be biased.

As someone who owns both systems, i would say that either one is a good choice, and what it probably comes down to is which of the system exclusive games your more interested in.

If you live in a place where you can get your 360 exchanged should it break, I suggest the 360.

But take into consideration that I'm a 360 owner. The reasons are:

- XBL provides more features and has a better interface. Features that you have are: Cross Game Chat (people in different games can chat), Parties (a bunch of people talking to each other simultaneously), and a few others.

- Exclusives: I prefer the 360 exclusives, which pack better race-games and shooters, and RPGs as well (mostly the western ones).

- Accessories: Better accessories. The PS3 controller is, well.. not very good. The 360 one is much more comfortable to hold and lasting.

The PS3 has a few pros, such as a lower failure rate, free network (arguable), Blu-Ray and the ability to use external HDs.

As to the release dates of Xbox "720" (refer to it differently... 720 is terrible. Something like.. incognito. Or X) or the PS4 are complete speculations, as of now.

yeah, you really shouldnt put this in the xbox360 forum, maybe system wars, but i have both + the wii, and i say go for the ps3 if you want gaming and more, but unless you like talking trash to childish adults on xbox live, then go for xbox. overall: same games, ps3 has a better value with bluray, free wifi, and online. Also the ps3 slim just came out, so id say go pick that up, and dont forget mgs4(metal gear solid 4).

Love my 360, I don't have a PS3. So, therefore, I would like you to purchase an Xbox 360.

Xbox 360. My PS3 gets used for DVDs and Blu-ray because PSN is not very good and the games are not nearly as good as people say they are. The controller is terrible compared to the 360. I would buy a Blu-ray player instead of a PS3 especially since you can get a good one for $200 or less.

This seems certainly fair...I think you should get the 360 though because of the better exclusives. It has better shooters and Western RPGs. Not to mention that the controller is more comfortable to work with. Of course, it's all my opinion.
