Granted they're only rumors at this time, but the rumors are that games like Grand Theft Auto IV are going to offer up to 4GB worth of downloadable content. If you plan on getting extra content in the future I would say go elite. Vudu_LineDon't believe every rumor you hear and don't get an elite based on one unsubstantial rumor.
Get an Elite if you are planning on downloading a lot of current marketplace content. All new Xbox 360s have HDMI output, the Elite comes with an HDMI cable which are very cheap or very expensive depending on where you get it.
did no one read my post? The premium has a HDMI port too, and YOU CAN USE AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE. my 360 premium (falcon) right now has around 270GB of storage via an $80 250GB external HDD. although the ELITE does come with the HDMI cable, you can buy a nice quality aftermarket one for about $15 or so. The Premium is a BETTER DEAL.
EDIT: New Premiums also have a quieter DVD drive. the only difference between the Elite and Premium is the color (woo-hoo) and the HDD size....which for $100 isnt worth it.
