Im at my friends out right now who recently got the XBOX 360 arcade version. Im wondering which XBOX to get myself, so which kinda do you have as of right now I could probably go out and buy an arcade, but I kinda want to get a Premium. Can you guys tell me the pros and cons of the two, as of right now the elite is out of the question.

Also is there going to be another price drop this year, any rumors or anything? cause I dont want to buy a 360 and then have its price drop two months later.

thanks in advance.

Next price drop might be around next fall,i don't see it any time soon they just did it like few months back...anyways whenever you decide to get 360 buy the Premium one.

Just make sure there is a hard drive in the box and you will be fine.

The Premium is definitely the best bang for your buck, as the Arcade does not come with a harddrive nor does it have XBox Live online play. Here's the listed contents/specs for each...

*XBox360 Arcade* $279.99

- Core system, no harddrive

- Requires memory card for saves/downloads

- Comes with 1 wireless gamepad and a 256MB memory card

- Ships with Pac-Man, Uno, Luxor 2, Boom Boom Rocket and Feeding Frenzy

- Does not come with any HD cables

- No HDMI port

*XBox 360 Pro* $349.99

- Standard system, with 20gb harddrive

- Comes with 1 wireless pad, harddrive, HD cables (except HDMI), bundled with Forza 2 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, gaming headset

- Includes HDMI port

*XBox 360 Elite* $449.99

- Standard system (black) with 120gb harddrive

- Comes with 1 wireless gamepad (black), harddrive, HD cables (including HDMI), bundled with Forza 2 and Marvel: UA, gaming headset

- Includes HDMI port

Hope that helps.. There's also the Halo edition for $399.99, which is nearly identical to the Pro except the paintjob and comes with a Play n' Charge kit ($19.99 retail). Supposedly it also is made with the new Falcon chipset, but overall if you're looking for a system, the Pro is the way to go unless you're wanting tons of harddrive space. The HDMI cable for the XBox 360 is $49.99 retail, so that puts you at $400 if you're wanting that with the Pro. I'd get the Elite, but if you really can't afford it, the Pro is your best bet.

You can not play online without the hard drive. Also the memory sticks are garbage, you really don't want to have to use them if you can avoid it.

I would not get the Elite unless your sure you need the HDMI or the HD space, or you think the black console will match your furniture.

depends on how much money you got but its better to get the premium if you have the money cus the arcade doesnt have headset or harddrive thats easily 120 bucks more if you buy the arcade

hey get the arcade version 5 free games ... not that shaby ,,,, and a free memory card,, you can buy a hdd and it will come to the same price as if you were to get a premium 360 .. and the prem doesnt come with games .. i always went for the core/arcade one you get to choose which hdd is right for you not packed in you best get the 120 gb seperate or if you dont have that kind of money just get the 20 ,,,

pros of the arcade

5 free games now comes with a wireless controller in case you didnt know they dont sell the wired ones no more ,,

free memory card for if you ever have problems with a hard drive you bought and have 0 money on you at the time at least you still can play games

cheap price 279,99 only 20 more then a nintendo wiii

another good thing is like i said you get to choose when and which hard drive you want at any time with out paying all of your money out up front for exyou can wait til next pay check to get a 120 gb hdd as aposed to paying 449 for the ultimate ...either way they all work

the cons

no head set which means you buy it seperately or hdd but if you think about it itll cost the same amount plus you got the 5 free games that the prem nor the elite come with

no chrome disc tray

no hd cables you can get a universal one or ms one seperatly i got a universal for ps3 ps2 ps1 wii and 360 i think i payed either 29,99 plus tax or 19,99 plus tax at walmart i payed 39,99 for the offical one ,, so ya youll get better value with the universal if you decide to go with a arcade system

what else am i missing i knwo they dont include a media remote but if you get the headset i got it came with one joy tech is the name for only 19,.99 walmart\

so ya either way you go its your choice it may sound cheaper going with the premium lets put it this way they both got cons and pros ,,, and let me tell ya 20 gb doesnt really go far ,,

I stand corrected you can play, but you need a at least a memory stick. A 512 will cost you 50 bucks. So it would takeabout 39.7 or so sticks to equal 1 20g hard drive. So toequalhard drive in memory sticks you wouldpay about 1,000 bucks if my high school math is right. So if your playing on a memory stick I question your ability for basic reasoning.

Buying the 120gb harddrive seperately is a horrible waste of money. The thing costs nearly $200, adding that to an Arcade would put you right at the price of an Elite, except you wouldn't get an HDMI cable, headset, etc.. Buying an Arcade with plans to upgrade it to be a premium/elite is a big waste of money. Money that could be spent on games... Get a Pro/Premium, Arcades are worthless.

I got the Elite because I have a 52'' 1080p TV, but the best deal if you want LIVE and other online features is the premium.

Oblivion is a perfect example of a game that requires a harddirve. With a harddrive games like Oblivion play better as they save data to stream the world. Try playing it without an harddirve after you get sued to playing it with one, the difference is huge. Youll also need the hardrive to store downlaodable content, demos, full games (original xbox) and in the future perhaps 360 games aswell. MMO are already doing it.

What does your TV have to do with what SKU you get again? And how does premium give you the best LIVE experiance?
