i usually trust gameinformer, but i like how gamespot has the average critic review score

I listen to myself, after I have played a game, because numerical scoring means nothing.LiftedHeadshoti dont care about the score, i care about what they have to say, and thats why i compare them so i can see what the problems with a game really are instead of just one persons experience

Agreed. Game Informer tends to write good reviews, but sometimes the numerical value they place on a title doesn't make any sense. By far the worst reviewers I have seen are from IGN. On top of the staff's terrible non-ability to actually write or, apparently, use Word to at least spell check their final work, they post some of the worst, most biased game reviews in the business. How they ever got to be so popular is beyond me, but if you read posts in the comments section it's obvious that their fanbase is mostly 12-14 year olds. I like the reviews on Joystiq. No numerical point value bs, just plain insight and opinion on the title they are reviewing. That is just how a review should be.

Lol, I watch Zero Punctuation, partly for the humor, partly for the insight.I don't usually bother with the scores but i'll watch and read both Gamespot and IGN for a game i'm interested in, then make my decision afterwards.
I compare Gamespot, IGN, GameInformer, Gametrailers, 1UP, and GiantBomb reviews. Point and laugh at the differences.. turn to USER reviews and I read up positive and negative reviews.. Outweigh the pros and cons.. Watch a ton of vids including video reviews, gameplayvideos for single player campaign and multiplayer.. I hang around in forums, and read posts about that certain game.. I'll ponder it over for a few days.. and then I'll probably buy it.
And then, there are big hit titles that I know will be good and I purchase those games on day one. But hyped up big hit games...like Heavy Rain, I still purchased a few weeks after release. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is another great game that I have still yet to purchase.. because i'm such a picky gamer.. and I value my money! :)
Gametrailers mainly. But I also just do a simple Google search and skim the reviews to get a bigger picture.
I like looking at multiple reviews, but I do prefer IGN's reviews (even though they have gotten a bit more bias lately). Honestly though, I check Gamerankings.com and see what the more major sites had to say about a game.
Game Informer for text reviews and Gametrailers for video reviews. Especially the latter can always be trusted.
The scores and reviews of Gamespot because I like the "good and the bad" thing and the game emblems. Video Reviews from Gametrailers.
gamespot seems to looks at games as though they need to meet something, not how much fun they are, my example is metro 2033, fun game but didn't have everything they thought made a good game
I don't really listen to any site for reviews considering reviews are just opinions. If a game looks fun to me I'll go purchase it, but if I just want to see what score a game received, I'll come here to GameSpot.
IGN and gamespot help me make a purchase decision. Sometimes if I'm really unsure about it I'll watch gametrailers. But if I'm already pretty interested I won't visit gametrailers because they always have too many spoilers.
If it's a game that looks like something I actually want, I wait for the official Gamespot review first. Then I read the user reviews, sifting through the wasteful "10.0 THIS GAME IS GOD" and "1.0 NO LEAN CONSOLE GAME IS TRASH" ones, and see how the general public weighs in.
I basically just read reviews for the technical issues. Other than that I don't really care about reviews. I read IGN and Gamespot mostly I guess.
