Who else is excited for Treyarch's Call of Duty?

Im kind of tired of Modern games with the name "Call of duty" (After only two, weird huh? 4 was reallygood, thats allimsaying)as well as WWII games with the same name. Treyarch has already confirmed their next game will not take place during WWII, they said something about usingVietnam era music.. thats all though. You can talk all the^#@# you want about Treyarch but they have proved to me that they know how to make a dark, gritty and extremely violent game (dismemberment and all that). They would be perfect for a Vietnam game.

*PS, Yes I posted this on the General Games forum as well, figured Id tell ya just in case someone called me out on it. Just wanted to see what people thought :) *

Not a fan of Treyarch's work

They seem to be an average game maker when they take someone else's game and tweak it. Considering Infinity Ward isn't in place any more I'm not sure what Treyarch is going to start with this time sround.

They could surprise people but nothing points to that right now looking at their history.

I guess you're a fan of the campaign because the MP has been pretty crappy the past 2 releaeses. I need to send Cliffy B a "Netcode for Dummies" handbook.

On topic, honestly I'm fed up with Activision and I feel they will rush Treyarch with this next one like they rushed IW - and we all saw how that glitchfest turned out. :roll:

They did a canny good job on WaW, so i'm looking forward to this one.

I like historic shooters. when I say Historic, I mean taking place in the past, like theyve been doing with WW 2.

Ok im going to clear this up for those wondering about COD7, so:

- It's set during the cold war (thats confirmed)

- you will probably fight in places such as vietnam, korea, etc, ( i've heard that you will be fighting in cuba, south america and london(Iranian Embassy))

- and yes there will be zombies (im really looking forward to this)

- for the london mission you will play as the SAS, but for the majority i expect you will play as Americans (although there are plenty of other sides you could play as for different parts of the game)

W@W was pretty good so im kinda stoked about what they do with this one. but this will be the last COD i ever buy. slvrraven9

I just hope it's not another WWII, they better make it take place in any other time.

what if after this one, infinity ward are back toether and manage to make a super amazing COD, will you still not buy it.

eh. I feel like WaW was a step down from MW, and that MW2 was also better than it. I figure the trend will probably continue. Treyarch will make a perfectly fine game that is very very similar, just with co op for the campaign and ZOOOOMBIEEEES. Both excellent additions, but I dont think it will be as good as MW1 or 2

The only thing I like about 3 and 5 is that they had better chacters and a more mature story. COd 4 and 6 changed that

Let's wait until it has some trailers and gameplay. Remember they brought us nazi zombies

I'm kind of on the fence about this one. I liked WaW and I enjoyed Nazi Zombies, but jeez there are so many great games coming out this fall.

Well, the way I see it. Cod4 and WaW have some of the smoothest gameplay I've ever...well played. With the exception of MGS4ryuz4kee

Im done with call of duty I am waiting to see what Respawn entertainment can muster up in the next few years. COD is old and garbage now.

I can't say that i have been all that impressed with Treyarch's work. Not to mention that I am pretty sick of teh same old generic WW2 (or whatever the time period) shooter. there's just not much innovation occurin in those types of games. Who knows though, maybe Treyarch will make me eat my words and pull something out. But I wont be pre-ordering it
