I'm a level 50 Breton, finished the main quest, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Arena Grand Champion, and almost a Master Fighter. My opinion but i hated being a vampire, it seemed like extra work to feed every night and stay alive ofr a few decent skill boosts. Also... Who doesn't love Oblivion?? :)
I have a level 47 High Elf, a level 49 Dark Elf and a level 47 Wood Elf... Wood Elf is my Thieves Guild/Dark Brotherhood guy, Dark Elf my Fighters Guild guy, and High Elf my Mage's Guild guy. Beaten Shivering Isles with all of them, though.
I became a vampire and when I went to do the quest to heal your vampirism I became one of those can't go in the light vampires.
Problem was, it was day time when it happenned and the only indoor place was the lady's house that was supposed to help me. I went in it again and she started trying to kill me because she though I was breaking in.
I've got a 44 Dark Elf Warrior archer hybrid, archmage in Mages Guild, Master in Fighters, Gray Fox, Grand Champ etc. And all i can say about Oblivion is plain and simply: WOW
Oblivion is ok but I don't see how you guys like it so much. Maybe it gets better further into the game. I think Mass Effect is better with the choices and story telling. I thought they would give me a choice in the one quest in Bruma with Jorundr whether to let the girl live and split the money with her or to kill her and keep all of it, but it ends up that she dies anyways no matter which choice you make. The combat is also a little bit boring.
Oblivion is great, Level 22 Nord, Beat fighters guild, working on mages, and finished Nights of the Nine, There is just something about it. Have been wondering if I should try Mass Effect though.
Its an awesome game and I did every single side quest, beat main quest, beat KOTN, beat Shivering Isles, beat Arena, and all of the guilds. It is still fun to go around and kill like everyone in site.
