I have always been a fan of a 22 inch to 25 inch screen when gaming. When the 360 first came out i tried to play on my larger tv but couldnt get used to the massive size, so i ended up purchasing a new 24 inch monitor and hooking it up to that. I guess what im getting at is what the topic questions. If you prefer a smaller screen when gaming just let us know.

Really depends on the distance from me to the TV. In my livingroom I would hate a 22 inch TV but in my bedroom 22 inch is perfectly fine. Which is where I play it.

32" is fine for me. Wouldn't want anything smaller than that. Had to use a 17" PC monitor for a while until I got my HDTV, and it really makes me appreciate the difference.

Mine is 17 inch and I don't mind it. Of course I'm crammed in a dorm room so I have to sit pretty close to it, so it looks like at least 60 inches :P

Right now i have a 47" and it's way too big for my room.I would prefer something like a 32".The smaller the screen the more crisp and clear the picture is though, from what i've noticed.

i got a 57', 42' and a 32', I prefer the 32' out of them all, I just find it easier to aim for FPS.

65" with emulated 7.1 surround sound. I can't imagine playing on anything less. I sit about 20 feet from my TV so it works well. When I see my target on screen it's usually about 2 feet tall. Pretty easy to hit that target.

reading all these "the bigger the better" comments made me realize i have a dirty mind. anyway back on topic, no i don't really like too. my 360 is hooked up to like a 24 inch tv in my room and it's okay, but i'd prefer something much bigger. my PS3 is hooked up to a 48 inch tv and i think it's a pretty good size.

This is rather humerous. LOL

I've never heard of anyone "prefering" a smaller screen. It surprised me to see there were actually a couple of votes. :P

For me it's about immersion - the larger the screen the more immersive the game is. An HMD (Head Mounted Display) would be preferable but alas reasonably priced units are not of an adequate resolution. If I could I would play on a 4 story IMAX screen!!!

FYI - I play on a 42" 1080p plasma and sit between 2 and 3 feet from the screen. That pretty much fills up my field of view which is the point. I have played on smaller screens but IMHO...

BIGGER IS BETTER!!!

:)

I play on my 30" Dell Monitor in 1080p... I play on my 60" Samsung in 1080p sometimes, but I spend most of my time around my 30" because it is on my desk and I do all of my work there so I usually play on it more...

I play on my 22" monitor. I love the resolution. It's right next to my PC. I don't have a desk, so I sit in my favorite chair and game it up all I want!

i've got a 32 and a 65. prefer the 65 just because it's the one hooked up to my 7.1 theater system and as mentioned above by someone, it's about immersion.

I do. The bigger the worse the picture quality gets. As in, jaggies get bigger and easier to notice. 22" - 27" screen is the sweet spot.

I play on a 17" LCD monitor in my dorm room and that works just fine. That is when I'm the only one playing. If I'm doing split screen with some friends, bigger is very important.

I own a 32" LCD TV, wouldn't want anything bigger. My family has a 52" TV downstairs which I don't really like to play on.

I used to play on my 19" Dell until I got my 52" HDTV. It's glorious! I just bought a new Onkyo receiver and Polk surrounds. I could never leave my living room and I'd be happy... unless I ran out of bourbon. Then I might leave for a bit. But I'd be back.

I don't think I'd have a problem with the size of the TV, as long as it's runnin' in high-definition.

I play on a 42" plasma and I love it.

I have a large HDTV and I love playing it on that but currently my XBOX 360 is connected to my computer, SO much easier.

[QUOTE="Xeros606"]depends on the game. i dont like hi-def tvs though because of hd controller lag.matt-astr

Controller Lag? Tell me more!

it happens with some hdtvs(like mine dammit!) where the control has like a .5 second delay. like when you press the stick up it will take .5 seconds to show up on the screen.

I've heard people like to play fps on a smaller screen as their peripheral vision doesn't have to cover so much ground, that it would give them a small advantage while playing a twitch-intense game (against someone on a 52 in screen). I guess that sort of makes sense, but personally I do my fpsing on the pc and the everything else on consoles. So big screen for me, thank you.

Ive played on screens that are 24in and smaller and Ive never had a problem. Gaming on bigger screens seems rather odd to me. Ive also looked at screens in many electronic stores and conventions and Ive noticed the smaller HDTVs display a better overall clearer image than those super huge 50in+ screens.

I think 19 to 36" is good... there is a limit though cuz then your eyes have to wander to far, thus lowering your in-game reaction speed.

I like playing on my 27" hdtv over the 58" in living room. It annoys me how everything is so huge and how far you have to sit back when playing on a bigger tv.
