HALO. I just got an xbox and started playing halo and im on the library level and i telling myself to play it because everyone says its so good, but i cant take anymore, i am on the point to where i can say that i would rate this game a 7.2.
I gotta say, you ain't the only one, but in my opinion halo 1 was certainly great even though it was played in spanish so i did'nt understand s*** , but if you think that the halo 1 sucked you should try halo "2" nothing new... still floods and covenants and another new dumb ring shaped planet :roll:

same here i went out and got 1 and 2 and thought they were ok.but for some reason i can't wait to play 3
Up the difficulty if you're bored. Normal can be too easy if you're any good. But if you still think Halo is boring, Id hate to see you playing any other shooter.

Same here i wasn't a big fan but i own them both because they're good but not like OMG it's the best game hands down. I certainly loved gears more than i loved halo. Halo 1 had to be the best, halo 2 wasn't crap. nothing new but just dual guns, and online play. It's alright at most. But i have a feeling that halo 3 will be one that is deffinetly a must buy. I don't know why maybe because it ends it all.
in my opinion the halo games are ok fun when you play single player, but you will only see the true potential of the game if you play with other people whether through co-op or through multiplayer
Halo was ok and Halo 2 was basically them fixing some stuff on the first one. Hopefully Halo 3 is better than both and the story has a great ending. If not theres always the 30+ other games coming out to play and amuse myself with.
You can't play a game 6 years after its initial release and expect it to seem as groundbreaking and entertaining as it did at that time. Shooters, especially on consoles, have come a long way since then, so yeah, it won't seem too special. At the time though, it basically redefined FPSs on consoles. You also have to remember that at that time, many people were moving from an N64 to an Xbox, so the difference was massive.
Regardless, I still find the game fun when I boot it up.
I can't find anything in Halo that would make me purchase it. Nothing. I played it with friends, I played it alone, I played it with strangers, couldn't find any appeal at all. It would be one thing if I just straight didn't like shooters, but that isn't the case, Doom, Quake, and Half-Life are some of my favorite games. I really don't get why so many people like Halo as much as they do, but hey, to each their own I guess.
I never had an X-Box, so I never played Halo. but I got a 360 just a few weeks ago, and am loving it. Last week I picked up Halo for the first time and was a little on the fence about the gameplay. I had to remind myself that it's almost six years old and I can't compare it to games that are newer like Doom 3 and Gears of War. But once I got the controls down and got into the swing of things, I have to say that I am in love with Halo. I am kicking myself now for not picking up an X-Box years ago. One thing I didn't like at all right away with Halo was the jeep or warthog or whatever it's called. The controls are so finicky and unnecessarily difficult...until I got the hang of it. I am absolutely loving it. I haven't even gotten close to beating Gears of War, because I'm spending all my time playing the six year old Halo. It's that good! And the music too is just so fitting, it seems to add that extra oomph to already exciting situations.
I'm definately getting Halo 3 when it's out. $15 for Halo was the best money I've spent in a while.
dont get me wrong i love shooters, i have a 360 for christs sake, im just saying that halo nver really stood out to me among other sixth generation fps games. i just hope halo 3 wont be as similar to the first 2.

Well I have to disagree with you. My first Xbox game was Halo 1, and it just so happened to be the reason why I bought the system. My very first playthrough of the game was in splitscreen co-op and it just so happened to be some of the most fun I have ever had in a game, playing through alone wasnt so bad either. I was also lucky enough at the time to go to a few lan parties and play some 16 player mp goodness, ahh, great times.

I was never impressed with either of them mostly because I suck at using the gamepad in lieu of a keyboard and mouse. I am strangly thinking about buying halo 3 and I can't figure out why.
