The only problem I have ever had with my xbox is the unit losing sync with the controller. And this has never happened while playing. Just some times when I turn off my system with the controller and the next time I go to turn it back on it won't, I have to turn on the system using the main button then sync the controller to it.
I've lost power to the unit and it has never given me red lights like some claim, I've never had a disc read error or a freeze, nothing. Lucky I guess, but then I game maybe an hour or two one day, and not again for 2 or 3 days, so mine doesn't get near the usage as some people I am sure.
My unit stands vertical in my entertainment center with decent air flow all around.

I have some people say that they have not had any problems with their xbox 360. I just recently got 1 red light on my 360 and that means i need a new AV cable or something else, but my question is that what did u do or did not do to keep ur xbox from any problems, i would like to know so when my 360 is fixed i'll know what to do and what not to do. And also how do i postion it? Lying down or on its side? Please answer i would like to know these things.GamerTron0I've had my Elite 360 since September of '07 with absolutely no problems, and I have played it about an average of 4 hours non-stop every day since (not exaggerating).
I have had my console for almost a year and a half, and all I can say is that it still runs the same way it did when i first got it, if not better then the first time I bought it, I notice the occasional freezing when playing off the disc, but all my top played games are now installed on my HDD and give me no probs at all, and all I do is give my 360 good breathing room and keep it well dusted.
I am hoping never to get a RROD from it, and if I do hoping its still under the 3 yr warrenty if it does, and yes people say talking about a RROD is just jinxing it XD, on the contrary the more I bring up the RROD concerning my console, the more it just keeps on ticking, so I would like to keep it up and running for as long as I possibly can, sending your console in for repairs and waiting to get it back seems like it would be a major pain in the butt :P
