Who hates matchmaking?

cause im from australia it is sometimes hard to get good quality games, and because in games like halo 3 and cod 4 u dont have a choice of what particular match u want, so u often join one that has bad lag. then when i exit and join it takes u back into the same match. omg its so fustrating.

i think matchmaking is the bastard child of the console mp experience. i much rather prefer selecting servers to play, like in tf2 on 360 or any pc game for that matter, i just think matchmaking is inefficient wen compared to other options

The lack of matchmaking is one of the biggest problems with COD4.

Atleast in other MP games like Halo online, it tries to match people of similar ability together. Playing COD matches where you have lvl 1 vs lvl 55 prestige 10 is ridiculous. It tries to balance the teams at the end of each round, so the teams should be even, but does nothing to make the match fair for individual players.

I agree. I'm from Canada, and Matchmaking systems like Halo 3 and CoD4 are amazing. I hope most game developers start to implement this into their games (hopefully in Gears of War 2 as well).
