I have a really bad habit. I seem to buy a videogame..play through most of it, and then randomly start a new game and don't finish the other ones. And it keeps going in a cycle. Anyone else have this problem? haha. Now at least since its the summer drought, i can go back and finish most of them.

although you dont have to play a game for 10 hours straight to beat it i suffer the same thing for most games. Not due to boredom but a game like mass effect, i was at the last boss fight and after 5 tries stopped and having played it since. I feel that my frustration level is higher now with a job and bills. I just dont have the same enthusiasim i had when i was a kid.

Oh I do it all the time.

I play rock Band everyday and consider myself better than 9/10 people (not to sound like an ass), and yet I still haven't even gotten around to beating it on Expert or Hard. I just get money to buy the clothes I wanted then just play freeplay so I don't have to play the crappy songs like Fall Out Boy.

Still haven't beaten NG2, Lego Indiana Jones, Bad Company, and about 99% of my games. Oh well, I guess that comes hand in hand with having a job, a girlfriend and a life :P

Yeah I do that too. Mainly with RPGs though. I'm all the way at the very end of Lost Odyssey and just stopped playing. I don't know why. I'll go back to it eventually, but I'll probably end up being confused because I won't remember the story. Lol

And yeah, I do the same thing. I still haven't finished Mass Effect (thinking of selling this. Really boring.) and Vegas.

no i think its everyone who actually has a life besides little kids. video games can't hold you down forever. besides you need money to buy em so you need to work. then make time for friends and family. sports, i play alot of those. Girlfriend, i love hanging out with her..i'd stop playing any game to take her to the mall or just cruise. idk i think video games are kinda for little kids since they don't need to do anything but stay home and go to school...hhhmm...i miss those days

I still haven't finished Oblivion, I got it a year ago. I got COD 3 in November last year, not finished that. I'm glad that I finished GTA IV (great story) Mass Effect, Gears and halo 3.

I don't finish most of my games unfortunately. I will often loose interest half way through. I especially have trouble with really long games. I enjoy multiplayer much more than single player in most cases as well so it is hard to even stay interested in the single player when I just want to play multiplayer.

I do the same. Its bad because you dont get to really enjoy the entire game until you finish it. Right now I have condemned bloodshot 2, and gta 4 that needs to be finished before I move on. I ended Mass Effect before I ended those..and I got THAT one last. Its bad, because now I want Bio Shock.

Its a good thing. the 360 just has a gang of games that are very good. Thats really good.

I constantly do that and sometimes I just don't feel like playing games (that are involved anyway). If I don't feel like playing much but still want to games, I might something like Viva Pinata (or a game wihere little thought or effort is required to enjoy it).

If I'm just getting bored of certain games, then I like to switch around what games I'm playing. Maybe an hour or two of one game, then another game. Next day, I might play two different games or come back to one of the previous games. Takes longer to finish games but I dont get bored of them as quickly.

Yes, I still have to finish...

Devil May Cry 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, CoD4 (on harder difficulties), Ninja Gaiden 2, Mass Effect, and Oblivion.

All great games, but it is a bit overwhelming, especially when I have DS and Wii games to play as well.

It's mostly due to the rapid fire-ness of how the games get released for me. I haven't finished Oblivion and that's from 2006. I still have Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed from last year to finish.

Now I have GTAIV, MGS4, Alone in the Dark, GRID, NGII, BF:BC, all my XBLA games and probably soon, UTIII. I just don't have the time to play them so I get in a few hours per game (maybe 6 hrs, sometimes less), then I think about the other games I still need to finish. :?

Plus I forget the controls, story, characters, etc. when trying to go back to a game I haven't played in awhile. I usually just get frustrated and put the game back on the shelf.

Same, i don't buy a whole bunch of games peroid. Only the ones i know i'm going to love. So while i don't play very often in the summer, the game(s) i happen to be playing at the time hold my interest.

I finish most my games unless i dont like them. You dont have to play 10 hours at a time though to beat it. Instead of going out and buying the newest best game finish the one you havent played yet and then when you beat it you can get a new one. $60 is to much to pay and not even play it.

I seem to stick to the MP part of games because haveing 2 kids takes alot of my time away. With MP I can play for an hour then stop with out trying to remember were I left off in campaign. This is why I have barely scratched the campain in COD4 , Halo 3, Halflife2, and my current love, Battlefield Bad Company.

I do that too. I'm in constant rotation with all my good games.

Sometimes I'll fire up an old game I haven't played in ages and start getting involved with it until it's boring again.

I'm actually really suprised to hear this many other people have the same problem. However it does make me feel a bit better about it. But it kills me, I hate starting new games when I havent finished old ones. Or I'll play through part of a game and then switch to a new one.

Games just don't hold my interest like they used to. I still remember playing morrowing on the xbox (i eventually got it for PC just to mod), night and day I stopped talking to most of my friends because of that game. And don't get me started on Diablo 2. But I really wish that some games (other than the obvious ones like gears that everyone loves), would just grab a hold of me and make me finish them. Only games I have really finished recently is NFS:C and one other one but I cannot remember which one it was.

hahah, no, no you do not good sir.

And to the guy who asked what I play, I play drums and guitar (guess that includes bass) b oth on expert, haven't beaten either campaign on hard or expert. And haven't even beaten the easy or medium for drums haha. Once I get all the songs I never want to play them in order again. Happened with GH2, GH3 and Rock Band.

I'm not even suprised how many people have this same problem. Completely games just isn't fun anymore, I don't find too many games that fun anymore. That's why games like Portal and Rock Band are good, because they are made to involve you, not just run down a hallway killing everything you see until you get to the next hallway filled with things to kill..

LOL, in my case, it's so bad that I purchased BioSHock, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect and a few other games on their respective release dates and haven't finished. I blame it on COD4 because If I'm in the mood for, lets say the Orange Box, COD4 always find it's way into my console and I end up play a hour or two of multiplayer.

I just dont have the same enthusiasim i had when i was a kid. FLzthvikings87

Everything he said.

The last game I actually played through STRAIGHT and beat was Resident Evil 4(The weekend it was released; because I'm a Resident Evil fanatic). Every other game I have owned since then I haven't played through straight because game prices are so high now and all these Multiplayer features keep me from completing a game.

I first purchased Halo 3 for my 360 in January 2008, then a week later I got Gears because I needed an action game. I got to the middle then stopped, not because it wasn't fun, but I knew I was close to the end and didn't want to beat it so fast where I had nothing else but Multiplayer & Insane mode left to play. Then I got CoD4 a couple weeks before GTAIV was released, which I haven't played much because of obvious reasons. Then GTA IV I haven't played much because I'm near the end and want to hold off til August to finish it so I can focus all my time on Star Wars Force Unleashed without distractions.

I think its because most of us are older. We have jobs and lives that don't allow us to spend all of our time playing games. I have a wife and a two-year-old. i remember reading that the average age for the original XBOX owner was 27 when it cam out. I am 31 years old now and I just have other things that I have to do. It's that whole grown up thing.

I was playing GTA IV and I am only half way through an I just haven't had the time to get back into it. I remember liking it a lot but nothing has really made me go back to it.

Yep, Gamer's ADD.

I just find myself bouncing back and forth between them all. My boyfriend and I did work together and focus on going through the main GTA IV story line, though, so I at least feel a little sense of accomplishment.

But whatever.

As long as you're having fun, right? :)
