I personally loved it. Pre-ordered and picked it up on release day and was not disappointed. The gun play was kinda basic but it made up for it in the storytelling department. I was even moved by some of the more emotional parts of the story, not too many games have done that to me.

One of the only games that I watched a full movie in . The story was amazing and it is easily one of my favorites. The gun play was pretty basic but the powers and executions made up for that.

The executions were pretty badass, like six shooter in the mouth.

I really liked it. Although I wasnt too fussed on the "secondary" parts of the game (to avoid spoilers).

Oh you mean the change of "scenery?" I thought those parts were pretty cool but one part was so ****ing hard and confusing when you move the bell.

By far one of the few games this gen where I was moved and satisfied with the ending.

I sat there forever trying to figure out how to get past that bell. The only reason I finally used the Demon Arm was because I got pissed and wanted to hit it. That bell should have a clue on it or something.

Haha I thought I was the only one. I kept trying to use the snake power(I forgot that name). Though I was referring to the part after it that was pretty difficult.

If I remember right the part after it was pretty easy as long as you stayed off the lighted center path because that weakened you. As long as you're quick and eat there hearts the enemies aren't too tough.

I felt like the first 2-3 chapters were truely great but after that the pacing took a huge dip in quality and the story + characters suffered because of it.

This was a game I was on the fence about buying for a while, and then my friend got it for me for my birthday so I figured I might as well try it, and it far exceeded my expectations. Great game. The story was good and the Darkness powers were a lot of fun to use. I also agree with the "other parts" you guys are talking about. I had a lot of trouble on that too at first.

It took me a while to notice the path was lighted though so it was pretty tough at first but then I saw all the little lights on the side and jumped off the path. After that it was smooth sailing. I had some trouble with the time you have to jump off the police station roof to escape the helicopter. I kept trying to kill it but it was to no avail, I even tried hiding in the corner of the roof but that didn't work. I finally figured it out when I saw the gap you could jump through on the side. That part was frustrating until I figured it out. I felt pretty stupid afterward.

It had an amazing story with rich character development driving the narrative. The gameplay was fun, slightly unique, and very immersive. Everything kept you in-game, in the world, which made it feel like a very cohesive interactive experience where you were really living the role.

I just started it and right now I'm at the point where you go to the Green Olive Resturant place after you leave Jenny's place. I love it so far.

I personally can't wait for the sequel of this game whenever it may come out. It was undderated amongst other gamers I think, as you hardly ever hear anyone talk about it, but when someone mentions it everyone says it's awesome. It has low status and yet had to be one of the best games that I've played for the X360. I was surprised it was so good, actually, as I was expecting it to be quite average.

Maybe that's the key to success. Have a low-key game and everyone will have such an average expectation for it that it'll play out great.

I am currently making my way through the game actually. I remember reading about it, but it seems nowhere I read mentioned all the little details that make the game so fun to play. I'm finding it very immersive so much that after playing it for the first time, I put it away so I could finish up some other games before being sucked in. :D

Absolutely loved it. Great story, great characters, solid gameplay. Also, it felt badass to walk down the street manacingly, throw your demon arm up in the air to smash a steetlight, and see the fallen glass falling past the screen.

I did, it's quite unlike any other FPS I've played this gen. Speaking of which, I heard the sequel was supposed to be announced at E3, I wonder what happened with that.

It was a great game, loved the story. It really gave me a connection, much like Bioshock. I wanted to keep pushing on until the end. That said, it was a looooong time ago, one of the first games I played for 360.

I picked up this game pre-owned, mainly because it was cheap, and I was amazed at how enjoyable it was. The storyline was fantastic, the characters were believable, and the gameplay was spot on.

There were so many little things that made it so enjoyable, like the executions, the way the Darkness heads snap at you and each other, the semi-free-roaming nature of the game...and those little gremlin things you could summon.

I traded it in, but I might go get another copy....probably even cheaper now :P

I still lol at the old tourist that has you play the coin "game" on the subway rails. She's more evil than the darkness me thinks.

Also, IMO the voice acting was only second to Mass Effect... it just immersed you even deeper.

At some point did anyone else feel like they were playing Escape from Butcher Bay with a different setting/antihero?

I laughed so hard when I got to the credits and saw Mike Patton from Faith No More was the voice of the Darkness. Fitting.

I loved the game. The Darkness had the most touching moment in a game i have ever encountered, Followed by a jaw dropping heart wrenching one. I really want a 2nd one to come out.
