Bioshock looks like it simply wouldn't hold my attention. No multiplayer whatsoever, creepy single player... not my thing (could be your thing though).

Mass effect looks like another RPG that has a nice big world (yay!) but gameplay that will fail to impress me (like Oblivion.. again I suppose it's all taste).

So who has similar thoughts on these 2 single player games? I'm much more excited for Halo3 and Forza2!

I am looking forward to both.  Probably my two most anticipated games for the year.  This year is really going to hurt my wallet.

I would have to somewhat agree with you on this. I just haven't been following up Bioshock and Mass Effect for some reason - not sure why.

Perhaps other games like Forza 2 and of course, Halo 3 are stealing it's "thunder." I still hope these two games (Bioshock and MassEffect) are a success though :D

EDIT: And PotatoSan - your signature scares me

Anyone NOT excited about these two games is obviously a communist. No offense.

Im looking forward to both games, but what i don't understand is that, people have to have some type of multiplayer in every game is seems like for someone to buy it? WHY! can't we just have a good single player game like Condemened with out people flipping out because of no multiplayer! I mean I think Bioshock will do fine without no multiplayer, that game just doesnt't seem like a multiplayer kinda game.

Exactly, Condemned is still one of my favorite 360 games but what I hope Bioshock does include hidden stuff in the game like in Condemned with the metal plates and birds.

I agree, but then I'm a bit old school. Back when I started playing video games, by god you locked yourself in your room and you played with YOURSELF...alone with nobody there to play with you. ;) On a more serious note, some people play video games when they DON'T want to be social and do other activities like movies or clubbing or drinking or poker when they DO want company.

Well I am sort of the same as well.  There are a lot of times where I just want to play a single player game with no multiplayer whatsoever.  I just get annoyed from Xbox Live from time to time and playing a game alone is a good way to relax (unless I am playing Ridge Racer 6 and I fling my controller across the room.)

Mass Effect more than Bioshock, i do get fairly scared easily i only managed to watch somone getting there guts spilt out on the trailer becauses i didnt realise how much they would be willing to put on a trailer, of course he did deserve it, nasty little child killing git, and the nice big friendly heavy drillarm thingy that loves dah kidz.

Personally I wouldn't give too much of a crap if games like Halo2 had no single player. If the single player is really something special that even I can enjoy, then awesome, keep it in there. but in almost all cases, for me, multiplayer is the reason to play games. They last forever if it's a good game. I've spent hours and hours on Halo2, CSS, WoW, and other online multiplayer games.

I know what you mean, i still play Halo2, but don't you think that Bioshock seems that it will do fine without multiplayer? I mean just buy looking at videos and screenshots of the game, it just doesn't seem to have multiplayer written on it you know? I don't know it doesn't seem to have multiplayer potential IMO.

Bioshock has a specific theme to it which is creepy atmosphere... creepy atmosphere doesn't translate into MP too well. they could tack on some MP but it wouldn't match the theme of the game... it's like tacking a Kart-like mode on Forza

anyways these are two of the top games i'm looking forward to this year...

i'm not expecting much from Halo 3 because 2 wasn't that much of an improvement over 1.

Fable 2 is up in the air... Peter Molyneaux never keeps with all the thing he wants in a game.

Forza? well i'm not a driving fan

I look forward to Mass Effect the most because I trust BioWare to do a superb job on it. As for Bioshock, I really hope it delivers an amazing single player experience longer than 10 hours. So many games now have a great SP experience, its just that they are too short. I don't mind if every game doesn't have MP, that's why I have Halo 2, Rainbow 6 Vegas and Splinter Cell Double Agent for.

typically i don't get excited about first person shooters unless something seperates them from the rest.  that being said, i'm very excited about mass effect (because of who is making it, and because of all the game elements i've read about so far).  bioshock though, other than all the "Best of E3" awards it got, still haven't grabbed my interest yet.

im excited about Mass Effect even though i usually hate RPG games. I like action RPG games, like Zelda  so maybe this will suit my tastes.

Bioshock just looks creepy and isnt something I would want to play.

I don't like Bioware.  KOTOR was horrible.  I'm still pissed I bought it.  Looking at the trailer for Mass Effect, there's that lovely part where they move a huge cursor around to tell the squadmates where to go - perhaps the most inelegant thing I've ever seen.  Bioware makes clunky RPG's for ultra-hardcore RPG fans.  I'm not one, so I'm not looking forward to it.

Bioshock looks like a B game.  Not interested.

Um...what would your idea of a good rpg game be if you don't like the very popular and highly acclaimed Bioware ones?

Bioware doesn't make games for ultra-hardcore RPG fans. If anything their RPG's have bought in alot of pplz who aren't fans of traditional RPG games. Square-Enix, Atlus, & NIS America's games are more for the hardcore RPG fans

But anyways, I'm excite about both, in fact I bought my 360 after the first time i seen and heard about these games.

Bioshock not so much. I'm a bit of a scaredy cat and don't like scary games. Now that there is no Multiplayer im sort of turned off. But Mass Effect looks like one of the best games ever.

i'm very excited for both of these games and i'm trying to keep from giving them too much hype before i even play them. i think if i try to forget about them until closer to release dates, i'll be more excited to finally get them. that might just be my twisted way of waiting for games to come out, though.
