We all know that Gamestop rips off in trade-in value, get over it already.

he was trading them toward a $15 game, i told him i would buy his game in exchange for those 3 games, not only did the employee tell me i am not allowed to discuss that in there store but the kid looked at me like i was crazy just before paying the difference... made me smile when i returned 3 used games there i purchased yesterday.

bought games there because they had Vanquish in stock used, checked the local smaller game retailer and they had the game used as well. Returned the games at gamestop and purchase at local smaller game retailer. That was the first time I've done business with gamestop since I purchased my ps3 with no accessories or games 3 years ago. So no, I don't sound like a moron, you were just ignorant to the situation. Thanks for trying.

If it weren't for the fact that I've gotten good deals from Gamestop over the years I'd probably hate them too but I dont. Besides, doesn't everybody and their mother own CoD? So how much could you possibly expect to get for it anyway.

I got like 50 cents for Killzone 1 when I eventually traded it in. Normally I am 110% against trading in games BECAUSE of the ripping off of the customer. However, I am at a point in my life where my game collection is already larger than I can ever hope of catching up and I really don't need old games sitting around collecting dust that I know I will never play again. So if I really want a new game, and am determined to buy it, I'm more likely these day to just accept whatever I can get from GS, try to cash in on trade-in deals when they offer them, and then at least I make some space at home for another game and save a few bucks.

Sure, there is alway ebay but I doubt I will get that much more and the trouble of putting it on the site and dealing with people, shipping, etc, doesn't seem worth it to me.

I don't really know why people consider stores rip them off when they trade it games. If you're not playing the game any more then you get more back for it than if i'ts just gathering dust on a shelf at home. And it's completely the consumers prerogative to trade in the game - if they could be bothered to sell it on eBay for a little bit more then good luck to them. I always trade in old games for new simply because when I'm done with a game I'll never go back to it

Complaining about how much someone sells their games for is like turdinng on a plate and complaining that nobody wants to eat it.

What's stupid is people coming to my garage sale and expecting to buy my old games for $1. But they won't hesitate to go to GameStop and spend ten times that much, plus tax, for the same game and feel "better" because they bought it at a store. And I have very competitive prices on my old games since I research each and every one from GameStop.com and then undercut my price by an average of $5. And still people act like I'm ripping them off even though all my games are in pristine condition with all the original case and manuals. GameStop is a dumping ground. That is stupid.

Few years ago, called them about selling Halo 3 - they said would buy it for $3.00, if I were to play that game 1 more time I would get my moneys value. Honestly rather just give games away to my nephews than sell a quality game for such cheap prices. Only time have ever gotten a good value from them is when sold my DS games there.

What does intelligence have to do with it? You can either get some money for something you're never going to use again or you can keep it, never play it again and not get any money for it. It's not as if GameStop force people to sell their games to them. Trading in games is not a stupid thing to do

Selling your games is fine, there are plenty of outlets (I mostly use Amazon) to get a fair price. Getting $7 for a game you paid $60 for is plain stupid.

People are lazy and places like GameStop exploit their laziness. If all you have to do is take your games down there and exchange them for cash then you shouldn't expect much. Similarly, if you're prepared to put the effort into listing your unwanted games onto Amazon marketplace or eBay then you perhaps deserve to get a slightly better price. GameStop is a business and, here in the uk at least, the second hand market is the bigger money maker for our game stores so I don't blame the, for trying to get the biggest margin on them
