Me personally I love madden, I already have a pre-order for it, and I love all the other sports titles like NBA 2k,NBA live,NCAA FB, etc but it kind of feels like the were getting the same game every year just with tweeks. I'm not talking about arcade games like NFL tour or NBA Streets but more realistic games. I would have love to see NFL fever or NFL 2k again or just plain in simple something different.
I'm psyched for UFC '09. The WWE wrestling games got stale years ago just like the "sport" and MMA is the next big thing its about time it got a proper game and its a new franchise thats not another year of Madden or NCAA.
UFC loks great. I'd love to so some new sim sports games of lacrosse and rugby. and then some sports games done just for fun (not necassarily sim) Like the Monster League Hockey and Football that were on SNES, then I always thought a video game of that old SpikeTV 'sport' "Slamball" would've been fun

So you want to simulate killing people in a simulation of a real sport that simulates killing people. Think about that, then play COD 4 online, then think about why we don't have a paintball game on the 360.

Well, football, baseball and basketball aren't going to change from year to year, so what do you expect from the games? You're not getting an FPS Madden one year, then a Real Time Strategy Madden the next followed by an MMORPG Madden the year after that. Football is football. Sports are sports. The games can't do much more than simulate them and improve on that simulation every year. You want something different? Try the FIFA games. Soccer is surprisingly fun in videogame form. EA makes a rugby game and even an Australian footbal game I think.
The thing about Madden is only every couple of years do they make any drastic changes to the gameplay. They could keep Madden 08 for probably 2 or 3 years and make all of the changes and roster updates over Live and it would still be the same game. The graphics are not going to significantly change. The interfaces will get a slight facelift, the controls will probably just get more and more complex with more and more useless additions. And the only thing that will really have a dramatic change will be the roster. If only EA would let you keep updating the rosters people wouldn't need to buy the new ones but no they need their money more than not obviously ripping people off. At the very least EA sports titles should not be full priced its a rip off to spend $60 for a game that will be obsolete in a year and won't be worth two pennies.
i want to see nba 2k9 with more features like being able to get technicals and more realism(yes i want it more realistic) an it would be cool if wen u createa character u can upload a picture and it will recreate it into a video game face that would be asweome
Madden 09 is not even worth a buy until EA shows that they have fixed all their glitches and fixed presentation.
Like an actual Halftime show, Pregame, Post game, accouncers that don't suck, refs on the field, field goal net, sidelines aren't worse looking than last gen madden (They are).
