Whoa, what happened?

Damn does anyone know what happened to Halo Wars? I know a bunch of Halo fanatics were seriously dying for this to come out, but somehow it only got a 6.5 on here, which is really REALLY bad for a Halo game. Is it really that bad? That's a serious step down for Bungie (the guys behind the Halo franchise) who kept making revolutionary games in the franchise but 6.5 that's just terrible. I actually don't care too much, since I was never too excited for Halo Wars to come out (despite how much of a Halo enthusiast I am), but I'm still pretty shocked at the reception this installment is getting.

Is there anyone out there who is totally disappointed/depressed/shocked at how apparently bad this game is? Feel free to express your agony on this thread.

yeah the game got the crap end of the stick. look trough these forums and youll see multiple topics just like yours. your not the only one who feels that way

this game could have been great...instead it got the preschool treatment and now its basically getting trashed

I've only played the demo, not the actual game. That should probably keep me from making any judgements on it, but not having played the game doesn't seem to stop others from critiquing it at length, so what the hell... Halo Wars did reasonably well on Metacritic. Thread creator, you seem to think that "Got a mediocre review from GameSpot" and "Is a bad game" are the same thing. They're not.
