Me, I don't have the money for it. I've had to literally win my PSP and 360 in basketball tournaments.FlaxseedCobblerwow dude congrats i m no good a basketball football is my sport.
well I know that 20 GB is a lot of space but the fact that you can only use 14 GBs of the HDDs' space is a let down.
now that Developers are creating content that can be as large as 2 GBs, and with the content that is coming out (Shivering Isles) I am going to need more space!
and I really want to get all I can out of my HDTV as possible. HDMI is made for gaming and I am willing to pay 79 extra bucks for IPTV, HDMI and 100 extra GBs of space.... but it's not for everyone.
some people will never need that much space or care how there games are displayed.. but I do!

Thanks a lot man, that's really nice to hear.
I do want a bigger hard drive, but upgrading to the new machine may be too costly. If it actually gets released, the prices you could get for a used 360 will drop HARD. Another thing to consider is the cost of the hard drive separately. The current one is $100, for only 20 GB. If the new one is just as expensive, or more so, then it won't be worth it.Â
If MS wants to release this version of the console, fine. But they should seriously consider releasing a dashboard update to allow the use of USB external hard drives. That way, buyers of the elite get a 120 GB hard drive that matches their console, but previous buyers won't get screwed and have to upgrade to a bigger hard drive that is more expensive than what a 120 GB hard drive should cost (like the current 20 GB HDD).Â
is there a way to transfer content from your old HDD to the new one??superman15playeOnly way I can think of is with a MU.

You can use a memory card. The only problem is that if you don't do it right it will cause your save file to lose the ability to get future achievements. It would be best that when you go to transfer that you slide your gamertag onto the MU. That way the new HDD will look at it like a first person file transfer and not a third. If you leave your gamertag on your first HDD and then transfer the file to the MU there will be no problem. It is when you go to move it from the MU to the new HDD where the problem will start. Because your profile isn't on the MU or the new HDD the new system will look at it like you are trying to copy a file that isn't by the original user. I have two 360's and I always transfer my files back and forth. The reason sometimes I don't just switch HDD is because I like to have friends over and play arcade games. There is a way to use a arcade game on two 360's with one purchase but that is another story.
Do explain about the update? How would that workI do want a bigger hard drive, but upgrading to the new machine may be too costly. I just got my 360 last week so I don't plan on getting the elite. If I need to get a bigger HDD down the road I will. Plus I could always get a black faceplate and if I felt crazy enough to, I could just take my 360 apart and spraypaint it black.chipface-zface plates suck there all tacky get a shell there 30-50$ mine in the post above is $65 but that because of the LED lights and stuff...
I am keeping my 360 until the my 2 year extended warranty is up, no since in getting a new one till then. But I will probably just buy a Larger HDD when they sell it separate. xelloss88ROFLLMAO! not really xD they FLAT OUT DENIED that it will ever be released.
Eventually ill trade in my current 360 and get the new line of the 360. I really look forward to the IPTV and HDMI.geogo3r

You won't need this new "Elite" 360 for IPTV. It's going to be an update available to all 360 users.Â

I would imagine the original poster was commenting on something that the 360, a windows based machine, should be able to do and frankly it doesn't make a lot of sense to me why it can't do it. And that is writing to a USB external harddrive. Right now I have a 250 GB external (picked up for $89 canadian!!), that has all my mp3's and pictures on. The 360 recognizes this harddrive similar to any portable mp3 player you plug into it. I run all my music throught he 360 from the external harddrive as well as picture slideshows etc. What needs to be done is give the 360 an update so that people can write to the external and use that external drive as you can on you PC.
