Why all these Sci-Fi/Fantasy games?

I wanted to buy a new game today and it seem like most(not all) games that are out/are coming out soon are either Sci-Fi or fantasy or some element mixed in.

Like the only 360 games sI can stand to play are... the sports andracing games. That god for GTA4 coming out.

I don't need any of this nerd-esque Mass Effect, Bioshock, Two Worlds, Halo 3, garbage.

Ok, I know what your saying there are a lot of fantasy type games coming out but I play football in real life why would i want to play a boring sports game with tiny people i always thought that sports video games were really boring and that the point of playing a game or watching a movie is to see or do something that you cant in real life which is why i like the fantasy type games i mean come on in Mass Effect you can shoot someone and it turns them into dust how cool is that.

I respect your opinion here and all but I strongly disagree with you on this. Are these racing and sports game you mention not fantasy gams in and of themselves? Example: PGR4, how often are you ever going to get to drive a Porsche @ 100+ mph or kph depending on where you live. By driving said Porsche you are in a sense living out a fantasy are you not? Same with the imo stale Madden NFL series of games, you are living out a fantasy by controlling your favorite running back for your favorite team, etc. You could even argue that GTA IV is a fantasy-esque game, but thats just my opinion. Bottom line is gaming in general is based around fantasy, you play these games to escape reality and be your favorite charecter or in your case your favorite sports player, and so on and so forth.

Why complain about the lack of racing games when forza2, dirt and flatout has been released during the past few months.
