I didn't realize that microsoft had a release date for the new chips. Though I see your point, many xbox failures are a result of the dvd drive, not with the microchips. All of the people I know that have had failures have had their disk drives fail. Though I do agree that the new chips are definitely a benefit, what impact they have on console failure rates will be seen in the coming months.

In any case, it's simply a testament to how solid of a system the 360 is - people don't need a revision or a price cut to make them want to buy, simply some solid games.
