I didn't realize that microsoft had a release date for the new chips. Though I see your point, many xbox failures are a result of the dvd drive, not with the microchips. All of the people I know that have had failures have had their disk drives fail. Though I do agree that the new chips are definitely a benefit, what impact they have on console failure rates will be seen in the coming months.

Yeah, seriously. 65nm revision doesn't come until the Fall. In any case, it's simply a testament to how solid of a system the 360 is - people don't need a revision or a price cut to make them want to buy, simply some solid games.

So what if they buy it now? These new chips are not coming out for a while(they are not in the 360 elite). People buying the X360 right now should not be feeling ripped off because they didn't wait for the more expensive model that comes with a bigger HDD. My Xbox 360 has been working since November 2005, so thats clear cut proof that not every single Xbox 360 is going to die after 6 months.

if you're talkin bout the Elites, they all have the same interior as the current one, meaning 90 nm chips.

yea i could get a Premium if i really wanted to....but i've been hearing that the hardware will be "3-rings of death" proof.....which would make sense...so i'm saving an extra hundred or so for the elite.....can't wait!
