Why are people talking about GeoW 2 so much?

It hasn't even been announced and the topics you see on here would lead you to believe that it was coming out this year.

There's no doubt it's coming but when? There's no announcement about a ball park release date

Maybe it might come out this year. Who knows. But one thing's for sure, GoW sold like crack-cakes. Its in EPIC games and MS studio's highest ambitions to make another game of the year.

Maybe if we were talking about the PS2 GoW would = God of War, but since there is not a game on the Xbox 360 that is called 'God of War' and since the rules for posting on this board say you should only be talking about this system, I'm pretty sure that, in context, GoW = Gears of War.
