I think its because it takes them 10 to 30 minutes just to have an online match(theres no one playing it). Its simple they want to play with somebody... And with the reviews that shadowrun had gotten it really doesnt help them sell the game.

Reviews are opinions, not fact. And no one is forcing anyone to buy Shadowrun, its just human nature to want others to have fun with something you enjoy.

You're way, way off here.  I can see why you would think that... that we're selfish and have nobody to play with, but we are actually trying to be altruistic and clense your mind of Jeff Gerstman's awful review.  I have never before seen a review that missed the mark so much, which is probably because checking Jeff's gamertag reveals that he didn't even play all the maps.

We want you to try it for YOUR benefit, not ours.  We are already happy with it, and can get into a game within a minute or two after booting up the 360.  Just try the demo, OK?  And make sure you do the tutorials, or like Jeff you won't know what you're doing.

Don't think you understanding the topic, ppl are pushing the game convincing ppl to buy it and they can't find rooms with players. The game might be alot of fun but this type of games needs to be a hot seller for it to be fun, what good is a MMO game with no players = waste of cash

Spoken like someone who is so bereft of his own argument he has to make things up in order to critisize a game he knows practically nothing about.  Jeff's review is the worst, most off base assessment of a game I have ever seen.  We are trying to help you guys, not help ourselves.  Shadowrun fans have plenty of games to choose from and actually want to help others, and aren't motivated by selfishness.  You shouldn't flap your mouth and form conspiracy theories about things you clearly know nothing about.
Just try the demo, OK.

You're ignorance is astounding.  Nothing personal, but you are as wrong as wrong can be.  I've made more friends playing Shadowrun than any other 360 game yet released.

Members post topics to give their opinions on the game they actualy played. For exampled I havent played COD3 but im not gonna tell anyone that the game isnt any good because i have no idea.

And I gues people that play Shadowrun couldnt stand the ignorance anymore and started to persuade people that the game is fun, and well it is.

Tips for newbies:

If your looking for opinions only trust them if they have the game on their gamertag otherwise as joey from friends once said its a 'moo point' a cows opinion it doesnt matter.

Hilarious topic considering I've played the game (almost to the point of being ridiculous) since the day after it came out, and NEVER have had a problem launching a match (of 16 people) within a few minutes.

What you're hearing are rumors, no different than people claiming Gears of War was going to have uzi's and plasma guns.

Same here, check my gamertag.  I've played Shadowrun over Forza about 10 to 1.

I've been playing a lot of it, but the MASSIVE bugs in this game are just getting rediculous. It's near impossible to find a game without waiting for 10 minutes, half the games you join are laggy as heck, and the hitboxes are an utter joke. Try sniping, it's WAY off base. I shot behind someone's back and got a kill (To the left while they were moving right), nice. Also, there isn't much variety in the form of maps or modes, and any additional content will add more expense to an already overpriced game. That said, I don't mind a ton because I only paid 45 bucks for the PC version. My Review of the game would be in the low 7's. It's a game with good gameplay but at times has insurmountable faults. (I love how I keep getting the "Shadowrun has stopped working" message. Games for windows my foot. The content is rediculously low as well. This game was either a) rushed or b) an attempt to see just how much money they could get away with gouging us for. This game should have been priced between 40 and 50 bucks USD for the 360 and 30 to 40 bucks for the PC imo.

the 10-30 mins to find a game , is a prob that some user have (including me ) . If you have this prob , go post in this topic to help the dev fix the problem as fast as possible :

http://forums.shadowrun.com/forums/thread/75203.aspx

Until the problem is solved , do like me , and Use the "Join session in progres" trick ( will get you in a game in less then 1mins )

I will never ever pay $60 for a mostly multiplayer game with few maps. That is just dumb. You all know a lot more maps will come later "at a cost" on marketplace. I refuse to buy half a game for full price. If we all ran out and bought this game these companies will realize that we are willing to buy 1/2 games and start making many more of them to earn money. Forget this game...it belongs right next to hour of victory in the bargin bin.

The main reason is that there arent many people that play this game online. Why would you buy a game that has only nine maps, and its online only? Somebody please answer that. Lol

Cause its fun? Also for the people that say this is a 1/2 a game i guess that makes all single players with no MP half a game right? Get real, this game was designed for Mp and thats what its doing so itsa full game.

Traditionally I think of a whole game as having singleplayer, with multiplayer being a nice but unnecessary addition. If a game is amazing on its own, I don't need multiplayer that's tacked on. (Good multiplayer is great, though)

i havent tried the game but it seems overpriced, also why is the xbox version more expensive? didn't xbox owners actually PAY for live AND the console that can ONLY be used for gaming? isn't it the same team that's developing, in fact isn't it the exact same game just with MORE features in the pc version (video optons etc) and weren't the game originally made for xbox and then PORTED (additional programming) for the PC? i'm so confused

You know I'm going to be honest. I don't know anything about ppl forcing others to buy to play or whatever that is about, but that sounds like B.S.  I was REALLY looking forward to this game becuase I LOVE the game Counter Strike, and was looking forward to a game that combined concepts of CS and added to that....Sounds like a good time to me! BUT the review I watched did disappoint me and has made me think twice about purchasing the game. Lack of maps does hurt, but what about UPDATES? HEY HEY! There's an Idea. Truthfull I am a little worried about spending the cash on the game, but I do think I will FOR SURE download the demo, and once and for all MAKE UP MY OWN DAM MIND!

i can not see spending 60 bucks on a online only game it should of had a a discounted price like 40 or 45 i wont hate on the game because i have never played it but i wont spend 60 for a game with no single player if it was to drop in price i would consider it

I like the fact that people who haven't even played the game or spent 30 minutes at a friends house playing are criticizing it! People are saying that it's good and fun online because it is. So I don't think it's some mass conspiracy to get hapless 360 owners to buy a game we know is crap and go back to our secret hideout and laugh.

This game is fun, quite simply put.

They Sould just come out with a ported version of Source for the 360, it would be awesome. I know a few places online with USB adapters for hookin a keyboard and mouse up to your 360. Gamers could make use of the 360 controler or keyboard and mouse? and you could have PC gamers and Xbox Live gamers play together on servers and that would be just BICHIN They could do it, I think they SHOULD DO IT, but It wont happen :(

i dont think anyone who thinks ShadowRun sucks had played it. everyone i've talked to (on and of the internet.) loves it more than any other game they own. im cheering for this or GH2 dor game of the year...so far

also if someone over the internet can force u to do something, either they are impressive or u r weak.

Try asking anyone who bought Shadowrun if they regret spending $60 on it.  I think that speaks volumes.

I bought Shadowrun a few days ago. IMO, it's one of the best 360 games out there. It offers a new experience that I've been looking for. It has much more depth than the average FPS. I don't understand how reviewers are saying it's generic. It's anything but that. All I can say is that the game is well worth 60 dollars. People always complain about how FPS games need better stories and then when they finally take the story mode out alltogether, people make a big deal over it. The game is great and I seriously disagree with the reviews it's been receiving. The videos on this site just don't do it any justice. Atleast rent this game because it's something that most of you do not want to miss.

I bought Shadowrun and I think it's worth every penny.  As far matchmaking goes it can fixed in a patch.  Halo2 was just as bad when it came out on matchmaking issues

At most this game takes me 5 minutes to find a match...You just have to make sure to include every game type.  I would say that the review missed the mark....Yes this game needs work, and I hope for free DLC as well, but it seems to me that the reviewer dinged the game for not being Shadowrun (RPG) as compared to the FPS that it is.  I do not understand all the hate, just because this game is a FPS.  As I said before, yes this game has its flaws, but it is really fun, and it is nice to play with all the extras (Magic and Tech)....

People, before you believe the hype or hate just rent this game and give it a spin....I always try to rent games, even ones that get bad reviews on Gamespot.  (BTW this game is getting mixed reviews...somewhere between a 6 and 8.5, I have also never seen such a gap between the user reviews and the Gamespot review, generally they are within 1.0 of each other.)

So you can't say the same for multiplayer-only games?
Thats like saying MMORPGs all suck because they are only multiplayer. O_o

You can solo in mmorpgs for one, and two, they are different animals. Also, I just tried playing this game some more, and as much as I want to love it, it's just not very good. You can shoot someone square in the chest/head with a sniper and they don't even wince.

[QUOTE="Bladecutter56"][QUOTE="Staryoshi87"][QUOTE="WraithsLotus"]

[QUOTE="Tree06"]The main reason is that there arent many people that play this game online. Why would you buy a game that has only nine maps, and its online only? Somebody please answer that. LolStaryoshi87

Chest maybe....but if you shoot anyone in the head (excluding the Midget, you get a one shot kill)

Also this game got a 6.9 and Pirates got a 6.2 on Gamespot.....I GAURANTEE that this game is alot better then .7 over Pirates.  Think about it people.

This game has TERRIBLE shot recognition, or should I say a lack thereof. There are so many bad aspects to this game. It's unique, it's quick, and I like it... but damnit they'd better do something to fix it. As it stands right now it's a broken game imo.

People are bashing the game for being multiplayer only. Honestly...who cares? If you have played this game for more than 45 minutes, you forget the fact that there are only 9 maps and no single player. I haven't even played them all yet. People don't realize that the fun factor cancels out all of those BS  cons.

Reviews are opinions, not fact. And no one is forcing anyone to buy Shadowrun, its just human nature to want others to have fun with something you enjoy.lockjaw333

What if you hate the person.....

For the record I haven't had any problems with shot recognition.  One shot to the head or two anywhere on the body... dead.
